I think that draft is when fans started to sour on Kubiak and his approach, when it seemed they wouldnt draft an RB in first 3 rounds out of spite even a gamechanger. And rather let the system develop cheap expendable runners (not that the Texans had a chance for AP anyway) Definitely worked with Reggie Bush through in not going after the hype, and getting Arian Foster later with that approach (and theres been some nice overall drafts in spite of taking skill positions high)
AP is from Texas and his mom attended UH so it isn't too far off to assume he would've liked to play for the texans. Would've been fun if he did drop to us though lol. Arian's not too bad himself
a few picks later, but we took Amobi Okoye in that draft. ...right before Patrick Willis, Marshawn Lynch and Darrelle Revis were taken. Great work guys
A few years later they had the smarts to take JJ over fan favorites such as Prince Amukamara and Nick Fairley.....seriously great work, guys!
No there isn't and don't get started on comparing a college team to the NFL. Been down that rabbit hole, felt like leaving a flaming bag of fecal matter as present as I left.
yeah it would suck to have Patrick Willis AND JJ Watt but overall I'm pleased with the Texans cumulative draft performance
He only went to school in Oklahoma, he's from Palestine, TX. So of course you want to play in the state you were born, not where you went to college. Unless both are the same.
I believe Peterson chose OU because they (paraphrasing here) "prepare/develop their players for the NFL better". Based on his success, it's hard to argue with him.
No matter how one feels about the Cowgirls, I'd never endorse the ceding any Texas territory or property to Oklahoma.
