I would say electric would be easier just because you don't actually have to hit the drum head or cymbal in any special (read "correct") way to get the sound you want. With acoustic drums, if you want a certain ring from a cymbal, you have to hit it in a certain spot from a certain height to get a certain effect. There's just more room for error with digital drums. That, and you can get good drum sounds right off the bat.

That said, if you learn and play nothing but synth drums and then went to play acoustic drums, you'd probably sound like ****. As a musician, it is my opinion that synthesized recreations of acoustic instruments suck. I hate digital drums in music. There's just so much nuance and so many variations you can make with sound that a synth just can't recreate. But I make my money playing acoustic instruments, so take it for what it's worth.

If I were learning drums, I'd definitely choose acoustic over synth.

I was actually being totally serious. Hard to believe, I know. Too many drummers out there that don't even know (or care) what a rudiment is.

And when ever I think of electric drums, I think of this:

We are not in the 80's. Acoustic drums. Learn on them, play on them, love on them.
