Not to mention he's improving by each month. In April, Curry is averaging 25.3/8.5/6.2 with 2.8 steals on 47.5% FG and 46.5% 3pt%. I don't think AB can ever do that, no matter what system he plays in.
Anyone who chooses AB is beyond reason. If that trade was offered, Morey would personally gift-wrap and carry AB to the bay with a bow on top.
Make that 6/8. Curry RPG 4.7 > AB RPG 2.7 So in other words, AB in his third year, first as a starter, is a Poor Man's Stephen Curry as a rookie.
AB PPG: 19.8 > Curry PPG 17.3 Curry FG%: .462 > AB FG%: .432 Curry APG: 5.9 > AB APG: 5.3 Curry STPG: 1.9 > AB STPG: .89 AB TOPG 2.9 > Curry TOPG: 3.1 Curry 3P%: .435 > AB 3P% .397 Curry FT%: .874 > AB FT% .832 Curry RPG: 4.4 > AB RPG: 2.7 For completion's sake.
There's a reason why Morey tried to package Brooks in a trade for the top 3-4 PGs in last year's draft.
We can bring up the awards they won in college to show a comparison as well. AB: 2007 Third Team All-American 2007 All-Pac-10 Team 2005 All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention 2004 Pac-10 All-Freshman Team. Curry: 2007 Southern Conference Freshman of the Year 2007 Southern Conference Tournament MVP 2007 Southern Conference All-tournament Team 2007 Southern Conference All-freshman team 2007, 2008, 2009 first team All-SoCon 2007 All-SoCon Sports Illustrated's All-Mid-Major honorable mention 2008 NCAA Midwest Regional MOP 2008 Southern Conference Tournament MVP 2008 Southern Conference All-Tournament Team 2008, 2009 Southern Conference POY 2008, 2009 Southern Conference Male Athlete of the Year 2008 consensus second team All-American 2009 consensus first team All-American 2008, 2009 Wooden Award All-American 2008, 2009 Wooden Award finalist Direct from wikipedia, which may or may not be accurate.
Well, the OP named this thread Aaron Brooks vs. Stephen Curry, and asked which one was better. You ask for honest opinions, you get them.
http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/04/12/team-usa-closing-in-on-adding-rondo-prince-green-curry-evans/ "Colangelo said Boston guard Rajon Rondo and Detroit forward Tayshaun Prince have formally been invited to be on the roster, of which players will be selected for the Worlds and the 2012 Summer Olympics, and USA Basketball is anticipating their acceptance. And Colangelo said he's closing in on inviting Oklahoma City forward Jeff Green, Golden State guard Stephen Curry and Sacramento guard Tyreke Evans to be on the roster."
Lol, it is funny to read thread now about who is better, Aaron Brooks or Stephen Curry? Stephen Curry is way way way better than Aaron Brooks. Brooks is not even playing to Stephen's level yet... I think you can close the thread now...it is even stupid to ask this question on this day, lol...
I never actually got in on this debate, but frankly, Brooks' career trajectory was significantly hampered after he sprained his ankle on that stupid Manu Ginobili flop on a half court shot to end the half. He was never the same after that. Makes me sad, AB was great for us.
Call me crazy but I would take Aaron Brooks over Curry. The man put up 20 points and 5 ast on a lousy Rockets team. No one in the league had his quickness and full court vision. He was something special and then his knee injury happened. Teams and coaches lost confidence in him but I fully believe that if he puts his mind into it and coaches put more trust in him as a leader of offense, he could be even better then curry. lmao, you're talking to one of the biggest brooks supporters but thats crazy talk. I do agree though, had he not gotten Manu'd he'd be much better. Dude was playing hella' special that MIP season.
