u get to pick 12 players from any time all in their prime.
what team u will build ?
rem it a team that should be able to dominate over atleast 5 years without any trades , so personality also count :)
    my team:
    1st pick Magic:
    positio 1-5
    2nd pick Lebron :
    position 1-4
    3-12 picks (no speicific order)
    Bird:
    position 3/4
    duncan:
    position 4/5
    Garnett
    position 4/5
    stockton:
    position 1/2
    Durrant :
    position 2-4
    DR J
    position 3
    Rejjie Miller :
    position 2
    Derek Fisher:
    position 2
    Scotty Pipen:
    position 2/3
    Wilt Chamberlin:
    position 5

i kept Jordan out couse i dont think he be able to share the spotlight for a long time
the idea behind this team is versatility /team play and chemistry .
u can go uber short with Magic as your center or uber big with Magic as your PG
u can go with uber spot shhoting team (why i added Fisher), or as uber defensive (why i added Pippen)
my hardest spot to fill was the pure center
kept going between Shaq /Russle /Wilt, the reason i went Wilt was because
    of his assisting
anyway this is my all time dream team

    what yours ?

I'll add rules to my roster:

    1) You can only select one player with seven or more NBA all-star appearances.
    2) After you selected that player, you can select one more player that has a maximum of six all-star appearances. If you didn't select a player with at least seven or more all-star appearances, you can select two players with a maximum of six all-star appearances, a piece.
    3) You can select 3 players who have a maximum of 4 all-star appearances, individually, if you didn't select a player at 1) or 2).
    4) Regardless of 1) - 3), you can select one more player with at least three-all star appearances or two players with one all-star appearance a piece.
    5) No other player on your roster can have any NBA all-star appearances.

Now that's a fun challenge. I assume we get them all in their primes:

    Hakeem Olajuwon (12 allstar)
    Pau Gasol (4 time allstar)
    Ron Artest (1 allstar)
    Ben Gordon (0 time allstar)
    John Starks (1 allstar)

    Reserves:
    Bruce Bowen(0 allstar)
    Tree Rollins (0 allstar)
    Drazen Petrovic (0 allstar)
    Jason Terry (0 allstar)
    Josh Smith (0 allstar)
    Marcus Camby (0 allstar)

I've got one of the best two way players even in Hakeem, and I'm surrounding him with

Interesting that I didn't see anyone select Bill Russell. Maybe I missed it....but I can't see any "all time" team without Bill.

    check my opening post :)

Russel got an honorable mention there :)
but since i wanted my dream team to be most versatile i went with Wilt

    imagine this line

    pg- stockton
    sg- Magic
    sf- Bird
    pf- LBJ
    c - Wilt

all 5 position filled with an Elite passer/assister :)
