Why the pick and trade with Milwaukee? If the Rockets wanted Collier all along, then why didn't they just take him with their #9 pick? Why talk to Milwaukee, find out who they want and pick him, then tell them who we want, and then trade?

Doesn't make sense to me. Can anybody explain?

Houston wanted to get something out of the deal. They got a draft pick. The bucks wanted pryz and said to pick him. Rockets did the deal.

Can you imagine david stern saying with the 9th pick the rockets select jason collier? That wouldnt be very nice to see. Collier would of gone around 20-25 if rockets would of taken moiso at 9.

Plus we save about 1 million in cap money. A 15th pick is slotted to make less money then the 9th pick. Rockets want to save money for next year and this was a small step towards achieving that.
