A serious problem, would Charlie Ward lost his 34th birthday?

    His birthday is October 12.

Rockets will play with heats on October 10, there is no way they will leave for Shanghai right after the game. So they should leave Houston on October 11.

Suppose they leave for Shanghai at 9PM CT on the 11th, there are 15 hours time difference between Houston and Shanghai, so it is already 12 o'clock at noon on the 12th in Shanghai while setting out.

Cause direct flight from Houston to Shanghai takes at least 12 hours, so after a good sleep on the plane, Charlie Ward wil arrive Shanghai, where local time will be October 13, and find his 34th Birthday DISAPPEARED!

No wonder the Rockets signed him a 3 year deal.

Has it been brought up by the Houston media or anywhere else? It'd be interesting to see what Charlie W has to say about this! :D Pretty funny stuff!

I lost a whole weekend when I was in the AF flying from SEATAC to Alaska to Tokyo to Tiawan one time. Believe me, "I would think of that!"

You "lose" a day crossing the international date line, so I guess the Rockets will leave on the morning of the 11th and arrive late night of the 12th. Ward will have to celebrate his BDay on the plane. But he definately can not complain. The Rockets somehow messed up and gave him a 3 year contract.

Thats awesome that you took the time to figure that out, I always try to figure out how much time I gain or lose, but its always too complicated.
On another note, I lost my 18th bday this year due to flying from DC-Dubai.

This thread title is a little too dramatic. Why is that a serious problem for us that Charlie ward loses his birthday even if that's true?

Serious problem, maybe not, but his b-day would be somewhere across the pacific. :(

Is there a "Bermuda Triangle" in the Pacific?

    1. because it's the offseason and nothing's going on right now
    2. because it's a joke thread that you're taking waaay too literally
    3. because how would you feel if YOU lost a birthday!? ;)
