Clutchfans simply could not survive a season like that

    If the Rockets go 47–35
    This place would melt down
Harden would not even be allow ed attempt to play in the playoffs

    Every game in the playoffs
This sites members will explain how we should quit and get on with trading EVERYONE
    AND
    FIRING EVERY COACH

Imagine what that season would look like if it happened in 2019-20

Really both of those teams were considered weak supporting casts for hakeem. 2018 rockets were a great supporting cast, 2019 somewhere in the middle.

Hakeem is top 5 all time. Harden is a very long way from that at this point.

Hakeem didn't spend his time complaining to the refs after every shot. He didn't complain much at all. He was the epitome of what Houston Culture is and the American Dream. He came to this country with nothing and busted his ass everyday. He made his riches and made a whole city proud. He is and always will be the role model I look up to! Hakeem makes me proud to be a Rockets Fan and a Houstonian even though I don't live in the city anymore. If i could relive the 93 -95 NBA years everyday for the rest of my life I would. The media wasn't kind to is then. The refs didn't love us them either. It didn't matter when the Dream was on the court. His objective was to win by getting the ball in the basket and worry about the call another time.
Harden has a loooong ways to go. This is still the House Hakeem built.

Then 'basically' is the equal of 'fool's gold'.

I have a hard time even considering comparing a guard with a Center.

I love hakeem but his time as a player in houston was not all roses.

If it wasnt for a GSW superteam, Harden would be loved here just as much. I think he reaches that level eventually.

If Harden and Hakeem were both in their primes playing together we would still be going up against a more talented, well coached, mentally strong, chemistry oozing dynasty. Their 3rd best player is going to be offered the max by every team with cap space and their 4th best player is a perennial DPOY candidate who averages 7 assists. Our 3rd and 4th are Chris Paul and Eric Gordon.

We would probably prevail, but consider for a moment that we had to replace Clint Capela with Hakeem Olajuwon and the average NBA fan would still debate whether we are more talented or not.

    Uhm, wrong.

I’d love a season like that. Rockets won the Championship that year. Bring on the average regular season while winning it all. Who wouldn’t be okay with that??

Thing was you did not know that you were winning it all. Hindsight is undefeated.

In this decade, more often than not the coach would have been fired or drastic changes would have been made at the trade deadline.

I dun think Fertitta likes mediocrity that much.

They won 53 this year but it wasn't a perfect season either..... could have been less than 50 if Harden did not have all those 40-60 pt games.

Yeah I get the hindsight part of it, but OP said nothing about that.

Doesn’t change the fact that I’d still take it.

Oh no, I want the ship. I said I’d take it with winning a title.
