I think he has somewhere from 2-4 "all-star caliber" scoring years left in him. I could see him threatening Kareem's record if things go right for him.

U guys hating on Kobe are funny he has five rings and was just as important as Shaq in the first 3(Shaq has won rings with 2nd and 3rd best sg ever) I understand that when your the best at something ppl always want to find a flaw in you to justify why ur not the best, But denying Kobe as one of the greatest players ever is silly. It's like me saying Lebron is not the best player in the world right now and I dnt enjoy watching him play and that he won't be an all time great when its all done. That's called being a hater lol. You don't have to like Kobe but calling him a glorified chucker and comparing him to Crawford is disrespectful and shows how much you truly know about basketball. You think Kobe chucked his way to 7 finals appearances winning 5?

No he wasn't and there is nothing that you can show to support that statement. Shaq led LA in scoring every yr of the 3-peat (regular season and playoffs), tallied more MVP votes and more All NBA votes. The offensive system was built around him and he received the majority of the defensive attention, seeing more doubles and creating more open looks for teammates than anyone on the roster. He was the primary option. There is one primary and anything after that is secondary.

You guys overstating Kobe are funny.

LOL @ all these fools saying Kobe is overrated.

He's undoubtably one of the greatest players to ever touch a basketball

Kobe, Tyson Beckford, Ronny... I can't tell who's who sometimes.

THAT'S how consistently amazing he is.

Thank you Kobe, for being an inspiration and a hero to each and every guy who's ever played or watched the game. When the sun shines in the morning, you are there. When it fades to dusk in the evening, you still shine on. You're a vintage Chevy in a league full of KIA's and preowned beamers. You were the first.

    You were the last.

    You are, the everything.

    Here's to you, Kobes.

    Le Classy.

Or should I say, glassy! lol

Props to Kobe on doodooing on the Pelicans and surpassing yet another milestone. The inspiration that he's given me through all these years, and the most important lesson he's taught me...is that I'm my biggest hero, and not anybody else.

Keep doing what you're doing mamba!

    Dude out ;)

Only the second player I've ever seen reach the 30,000 point mark. Must feel great to look back and know he's in rarified company.

If Kobe averages 24 ppg for the rest of the season and the playoffs...he could easily pass up Wilt Chamberlain and be about 600points from passing up MJ...(he could do that sometime next season)...

Only 5 players have ever scored this much...30k..thats amazing...congrats Mamba...respect your game and career...

Baring any un-forsaken injuries...he could catch Kareem (doubt it though)...if he averages about 15 ppg for the next 5 years(getting him to the age of 39-40ish)...he would be at 36162(including todays game)...

To catch Kareem he would have to average about 20.5 ppg for the next 5 years

So Icehouse how many rings and MVPs did Shaq get without Kobe? I'm Not saying Kobe was the first option on those 3 teams but no doubt Shaq does not win without him, at best he gets 1 ring. U can't act like having Kobe who was avg over 20 5 and 5 in all three wasn't a huge factor in the lakers not Shaq getting 3 rings. Plus if u want to go further Shaq got one ring with wade Kobe got 2 with Pau and I dnt think anyone including u will say Pau is better than wade. U can try and downplay Kobe all you want but the dude just got into the super elite catoagory tonight if your a basketball fan u should already know how good Kobe is. I wasn't trying to hate on Shaq I think he's the 3rd eat center all time behind Hakeem and Kareem.

I'm done defending greatness if you can't see it your an idiot.

Playoff scoring doesn't count. The record is for regular season only.

    In 2001, Shaq scored 28.7ppg, Kobe 28.5ppg. That's 1A and 1B.
Kobe's also the goto player in 4th quarter. You go to your best player down the stretch. Your argument is so flawed, it's not even funny.
