Rookies report 7/21 Veterans report 7/24 Houston Texans Training Camp presented by XFINITY will begin on Thursday, July 25 as the Texans take the field in preparation for the 2019 season. Six training camp practices will be open to the public: Thursday, August 1 Saturday, August 3 Saturday, August 10 Wednesday, August 14 Thursday, August 15 The practices on Wednesday, August 14 and Thursday, August 15 will be joint practices with the Detroit Lions. All practices will begin at approximately 9:10 a.m. CT. The Texans will also travel to Green Bay for joint practices with the Packers on Monday, August 5 and Tuesday, August 6 leading up to the first preseason game on Thursday, August 8. Open practices will begin at 9:10 a.m. CT and gates will open to fans one hour prior with lines forming on Murworth Drive. Free parking is available beginning at 5 a.m. south of the Houston Methodist Training Center in the Green Lot off Lantern Point Drive. The NFL Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for all practice sessions open to the public. Fans will have the opportunity to register for a training camp ticket drawing starting Wednesday, July 17 and fans can register until Thursday, July 25 at 3 p.m. at http://www.houstontexans.com/TCTickets. Winning fans will be notified via email on Friday, July 26 and provided with two tickets per person, per practice. Limited bleacher seating is available at each practice session and is first come first serve. Simultaneously with the cut-down to 53, clubs that have players in the categories of Active/Physically Unable to Perform or Active/Non-Football Injury or Illness must select one of the following options: place player on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform or Reserve/NonFootball Injury or Illness, whichever is applicable; request waivers; terminate contract; trade contract; or continue to count the player on the Active List. September 1: Claiming period for players placed on waivers at the final roster reduction will expire at 12:00 noon, New York time. There really is a buzz in the entire city that's very palpable. You can just feel the energy and excitement. People in Houston really have a feeling that this season could be special. VERY special.
