This one is good. I like the first 3 rounds. Not crazy about the McCoy pick but all together not a terrible mock.
Not crazy about the McCoy pick and puzzled about picking another FS in Thornhill in the 2nd, except they plan to move him to CB. And you still don't have a true LT after all that. The best pick is probably Darrell Henderson in the 3rd.
It's like they are trying to pick so horribly that we are feeling better after the draft when anyone but these picks are made...
I could see us taking Miles Sanders in the third. If we trade up, I guess it'd be for a tackle that fell.
Why do they keep trying to force Cajuste on us. They have him mocked to the Texans like 70% of the time.
Saw this, I for one am for BPA almost always in RD1. I will say the texans have put themselves into a precarious position with dire needs at corner and tackle. A run on tackles before 23 is expected and I think there are maybe 2 corners imo, greedy and ya-sin, that fit what we are looking for physically and playing style. If you are looking at the 4th or 5th best tackle and the corners you like are gone, see if you can trade down. If you dont like the value in that, go best player. To me, thats the situation where Jacobs makes a LOT of sense. A good rb that is a great pass protector and pass catcher would help Deshaun take less hits. He is the best rb in the class and if you can get him at 23 I wouldnt be mad.
First, let me say that I appreciate your insights in many threads, however, I'd prefer to look RB later. Jacobs is a good looking back, but his 4.6+ pro day and Alabama pedigree have me just a tad cautious in the 1st. If as you say our targets at OT and CB are off the table, then a trade back would be nice. However, I'd hope that we would look at IOL as potential picks at 23 as well. Two guys I like in our range are Chris Lindstrom and Dalton Risner. Both are tough, savvy technicians that can play multiple positions. Assessments on Lindstrom are solid ( https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/chris-lindstrom ) and he seems like the kind of player we can plug into LG/RG for the next decade. While Risner's evals don't seem as clean as Lindstrom, he's could still bring that savage mentality that our line needs and a potential long-term RT or RG player we need. Would love Risner more if we could trade back a few picks and pick additional mid-round bounty.

Houston Texans 23 OF 34 Joe Robbins/Getty Images The Pick: CB Byron Murphy, Washington If the Houston Texans are unable to land an offensive lineman in Round 1—which is likely given the run on tackles in this mock draft—the best move is to look for much-needed improvements in the secondary. That comes via Byron Murphy, who is the best technician at cornerback in the 2019 draft class. Murphy doesn't have great size—he bulked up to 190 pounds on a 5'11" frame for the combine—but he does have clean technique and the instincts to find and attack the football. He's feisty in coverage with a no-fear mentality boosted by the hands and feet to stay in coverage even if he lacks size or straight-line speed. Offensive line needs can be looked at in Round 2, where the Texans have two selections. What the front office can't do is reach for needs in Round 1. 33. I'd be fine with a Murphy/Howard duo to start things off if all the top tackles are off the board. Not sure I'd pass on Dexter Lawrence though. That trio would be really intriguing to me.
