    for me, 2018 was kind of a weak year for new music.

    my favorite release had to be spiritualized - and nothing hurt...sounds like beach boys and late period beatles start a psychedelic gospel band.

    sudan archives - kind of like an R&B dirty projectors with some east african instrumentation/influences...



    its not new, but thanks to mike judges 'tales from the tour bus' this was my most listened to song of 2018...

    BJS is a bad-ass motherf***er...and thats his son absolutely tearing it up on electric guitar.

    Agreed. Didn't get near enough recognition. Most of my favorite albums this year were from artists I've been a fan of since I was in my 20s (Spiritualized, Beach House, Neko Case). Not a whole lot of new stuff really blows me away.
