I’m planning on starting a binge of The Sopranos. I’ve never seen it before, but wanted to get the opinion of people that did watch it if they think it would still hold up today?

Keep in mind season 1 was 1999!

    Is this a serious question?

Yes the Sopranos hold up and everything in 1999 holds up

After the first season the series takes off and the last few seasons were super intense

I heard it wasn't that good. Don't bother.

Re-watched a few years ago, no question the show holds up! If you like The Godfather movies, Goodfellas, etc. then you'll absolutely love it! There is a reason the show has since been canonized.

IIRC the first episode, while interesting, is dissimilar to every other episode. So if you're not crazy about the pilot, still stick with it.

    Yes.

You'd think it would be easily dated... but the only thing that really stands out is the use of flip-phones (hell, the Departed uses flip-phones for that matter).

Had a re-watch of both this and Breaking Bad over the last 1.5 years. Both still hold up. Both still tremendous. Slightly prefer the Sopranos due to more story-lines/character development (and less binge-watching effect.... you can actually remember actual episodes), but certainly worth the watch.
