The Tri-City roster will be strong once they add the other draftees (Beer, McKenna, Pena). I suspect Ramiro Rodriguez, Jose Carrillo, Juan Pablo Lopez, Nivaldo Rodriguez, and Luis De Paula will head back to the GCL once the rest of the draftees arrive. But there are probably only a dozen roster spots available without releasing anyone (short season rosters have 35 man limits). I was disappointed not to see Joe Perez. I wonder what his status is and when is expected back. Only other name not accounted for Gerardo Bojorquez (assuming Alex House and Hunter Martin are injured). There was a new name: IF Luis Encarnacion. Looks like he was with the Phillies farm for a few years before being released; his numbers are certainly nothing special. Guessing the roster/lineup looks like this on Friday: CF Celestino 2B Wielansky LF McKenna DH Beer RF Machado 1B Schreiber 3B K Davis SS Pena C Salazar Bench (8): Holderbach, Campos, Dennis, Hensley, Dawson, Taylor, Sanchez-Galan, Mattix SP (8): Abreu, Garcia, Donato, Paulino, Tejada, Deason, Freure, Hanson RP (10): Hiraldo, Hardman, Robles, Hiraldo, Bermudez, Hardy, Moclair, Dubin, France, Daniels Assigned to GCL (9): Schroeder, J Perez, Carrillo, Matute, Rodriguez, Encarnacion, E Valdez, Lopez, N Rodriguez, De Paula, Released (2): J Pineda, A Pineda DL/??? (14): Martin, House, Conine, Conn, Costes, Roach, Figueroa, Paulino, Gonzalez, Lin, Henderson, Cabral, Billingsly, Gross Unlikely to sign (7): Duarte, Birdsell, Stillwell, Cruz, Ayers, Bregman, Correa
Enoli Paredes has allowed a hit, walked one, and struck out seven over five scoreless innings for Quad Cities.
Framber Valdez vs. San Antonio: 5 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 10 K Randy César extended his hitting streak to 34 games and Alex De Goti hit a solo homer, his 8th of the season. Yohan Ramirez pitched the last three innings and allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out six in Quad Cities' 4-0 win over Clinton. Dean Deetz walked two and allowed a double in the 1st, but he picked a guy off 1B, another guy got caught stealing third, and he got a strikeout to end the inning.
I actually think he'll spend more time in Quad Cities than Tri-City this summer, unless he's hitting in the .230s with little power in TC and people are complaining about it (I'm mentally preparing myself for those comments)
So far today in Fresno, White and Reed have both blasted 3 run homers. Would love to see one of them come up in place of Jake.
Just another FYI...Fresno is at Round Rock Saturday to Tuesday. eta: show up and I'll buy you a beverage.
