Schroeder's the last man standing. There's still 2.5 weeks before the deadline. Miguel Figueroa (24) has updated his bio so I'll take that as an indication that he's agreed to a deal.
Totally un-Stros related now, but this kid Jackson Kowar from Florida, RHP drafted 33 by the Royals, can ****ing deal. Blair Henley on the mound for Texas could be a highish draft pick next year, though he looks like crap so far.
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/2018-astros-draft-pick-tracker.291545/ Add up all of the "unders". $280,200. This is all they can go over slot for round #2 pick Jayson Schroeder.
They can outspend their pool by up to 5%, incurring a 75% tax on the just the overage and without losing draft picks. Also, if anybody in rounds 11-40 signs for more than $125K, the overage counts against the pool.
6th round pick RJ Freure signed for ~$100k overslot. Says he’s up to 97. Will be one to watch for sure.
The Astros now have $1,687,600 remaining in their pool before penalties, with McKenna set to sign soon and Schrieber's bonus yet to be announced. This should be more than enough to sign Schroder.
This kid looks like he's straight out of Dazed and Confused. Like he just signed it and said "Alright alright alright."
If you account for the extra <5% they can go over without losing a pick, they can bump that up to ~$1.5M, which is what they gave Perez last year.
28th rounder Joey Gonzalez is on the GCL roster. So this is what I show: Signed, but not on a roster: C: Salazar, Paulino RHP: Deason, Freure, Conine, Moclair, Roach, Figueroa, Henderson, Gross LHP: Bermudez Not yet signed, but expected to sign: OF: McKenna RHP: Schroeder, Daniels, France, Billingsly Not expected to sign: C: Stillwell, Lin, Birdsell IF: Correa, Duarte OF: Cruz RHP: Ayers LHP: Bregman
