Because people care more about good basketball than the fear of super teams. GS have the best team basketball I have ever seen. They have super stars, but they play super team ball, just look at their assists. They play good defense as well, this is how basketball should be taught and played.

Cleveland have Lebron, which automatically draws in huge number of fans. Magic vs Bird saved the NBA remember? No one cared that they played almost every year against each other for a decade.

    "Good basketball" include good competition.

Anybody who have played pick up basketball knows that if you had all the good players on the same team, that team would play "good basketball" but the game would be no fun.

You can spin any stat to highlight the good things.

I'm curious to see TNT ratings. Remember that even though ABC/ESPN say it's a 5% increase, that's an average. There have also been 5 less games. Up to the finals in 2016, there were 79 games. This year, assuming Cleveland closes out unless Silver wants to extend the series for ratings, there will be 74. Honestly should've been 73 if the Cavs didn't throw game 3.

    I don't like Durant.

But Lebron needs to taste his own medicine. aka a super team killing him. He had it easy for years.

NBA don't care. Those TV contracts are locked up. The NBA TV deal with ESPN and TNT are locked up till 2025.

I want Draymond and Lebron too pay for their arrogance.

    Where is the 3rd option??!!!

I wish the storyline would be...The Cavs and warriors have been found to have defrauded the public and the NBA and have forfeited their place in the NBA finals. The runner ups Celtics vs Spurs will take their place.

Meaningless. Let's see how they are next year, especially if we wind up with a 4 or 5 game Finals win for one of these two teams.

    exactly.

up until the finals in the east and the west, most of the games did not feature the superteams blowing out other teams. The semi finals have mostly been on TNT and I am sure the ratings have decreased for the semis after/during game 1. ESPN has only had a few of those games.

ratings are always supposed to go up rather than down in the semi finals

Wut? You don't think he had a taste of that the last two years? Lebron deserves everything he's accomplished because he was clearly the #1 reason and the driving engine behind those teams. He damn near beat the 1st iteration of these Warriors with Irving and Love injured.
