the lakers and celtics sure have been historically lucky when it comes to trades for future picks where the other team just absolutely plummets after the trade. i mean it's not that hard to not be the worst team in the league like brooklyn was. i mean it would have been a great trade if they got two 5th picks out of it, but a #1 and #3? come on. lakers and celitcs into the top, phoenix kicked to the curb? not going to help the conspiracies. had a feeling with magic there that things would break the lakers way. jim buss seems like he would've lost the pick.
