They are currently sitting at the #3 seed in the West with 16 games left and currently on a 9 game winning streak... what is going on? Should we be worried about them or should the Warriors be worried about them?
Before the season, I felt the Blazers had a legit chance to be a top 4 seed. If healthy and focused, neither the Warriors or Rockets should fear the Blazers. However, they will be a tough out in the playoffs. What is most scary is the Blazers ability to close games because of Lillard and McCollum. It's unreal sometimes.
Warriors should, Houston not so much. 0-2 vs Houston 2-1 vs Golden State. We still play them twice and feel at worst we go 1-1 for a 3-1 season series win. GS lucky they only play 3 times this season. They sit in 3rd place and no doubt are on an impressive streak but their schedule still sees Cleveland, Boston, Houston x2, OKC, Utah, SA. Their last 4 games are brutal and likely will cause them to drop a position in the crowded 3-10 West.
The Blazers are a good team. However, they have two small gaurds that are ball dominate and play ISO ball but do it as well as any gaurds in the league. However their other guys are not good enough and their bench is bad. On the 20th we will prove they are nothing to be worried about. There is a reason they are 11.5 games back and not 2-3..there’s levels to this ****.
I will give them both credit. Smith made some comments in a respectful way that not many reports would. Also credit to C.J. for not losing his cool and actually discussing the situation without throwing his teammates under the bus and avoiding a headline.
CJ has a degree in journalism. He knows what he's doing. He'll be great in the booth once his career is done.
