I have watched every single USA game even the warm up friendlies. Harden has overall been the best player on the team.

Now we are in the quarter-finals which is kind of like the playoff first round. He has had a horrible game thus far. I would have liked him to keep performing all the way and win it for USA. However, the perception that he comes up short in the big stage still holds true esp after such an outing.

Something about James and 3rd quarters...we need some stats dug up...but so many of my fondest Harden performances have happened in the 3rd quarter...

The first round of the FIBA tourney is like the first round of the NBA playoffs. That game already happened and Harden put up very respectable numbers.

If you've truly watched this tournament, you'd recognize that this game has been officiated very poorly. Harden is simply not getting the calls.
Yes, Harden has been trying to draw fouls, but it must be the gameplan because Coach K hasn't asked anything different of him.

Everyone is ready to **** on him but no one will say a word about Curry or Kyrie's defense. Makes sense

Also if you wanna play single game sample size, you can't ignore Harden's game 6 performance where he dropped a filthy 34pts/4rb/6ast/4stl on 60% shooting.

Meanwhile a "big game performer" like Aldridge put up 30pts/13rbs on 38% shooting

But of course, that won't matter

Like I said, he has been the best player on team USA. And he was bad in the first half. Just calling it as is. And you can't be relying on calls if you don't get them first few times. Refs get tighter come the NBA playoffs and we saw that.

And I could care less about Curry or Kyrie's defense or lack thereof. They are not Rockets players and do not interest me.

I have no problem saying that Harden put up crap numbers in the first half. I just find it annoying that this somehow ties into him not being a "big game performer" and hurting him in the regard.

getting to the basket and drawing fouls is one of his strengths. that won't be changing.

3rd quarter Harden exploded so much he had to sit the whole 4th to rest. Hope he can recuperate in time for Lithuania.

Spain/France game is pretty great. It only took 2 weeks to finally get a fun competitive game worth watching. I cut off USA games in the 4th quarter.

    Rudy gobert!

Going to be a great shot-blocker.
