2013 will go down as a massively disappointing year for Barack. Even Chris Matthews of MSBNC fame agrees (those are his words in the title).

Obama wasted a year “torpedoing” his legacy.
Let’s take a look back through the reasons why 2013 was such a failure for Obama. I’ll group the healthcare related failures all at the top.

    1. Obamacare rollout. 6 people enrolled the first day. The website didn’t work despite millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars to fund it.
    2. Obama was caught in a clear lie. He said that Americans could keep their healthcare plan if they liked it.
    3. 5 million Americans had their insurance cancelled due to Obamacare.
    4. Insurance premiums went up, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. 5% for single coverage, 4% for family coverage. In the past year.
    5. Americans did not sign up for Obamacare. Numbers way below goals. Not surprising at all.
    6. A litany of delays and exemptions for Obamacare. The democrats could have avoided the partial government shutdown if they had the foresight to recognize this earlier.
    7. Obama lost significant trust with world leaders due to the NSA spying on foreign governments. Including many of our friends. Embarrassing. Then Obama claimed he wasn’t aware of the bugging of leaders’ phones. Which makes it even worse. Chris Matthews said “Every time something gets screwed up there’s a sense from the President that he might not be involved. I don’t think that’s the way it ought to be.” It’s the mark of a crappy leader, Chris.
    8. The IRS was busted targeting conservative organizations.
    9. Benghazi attackers are still at large.
    10. Obama’s Syria strategy was opposed by all sides, and ultimately he tried to use a John Kerry offhand comment to escape it. An unsteady handling of the situation, and Obama lost credibility even further in the Middle East.
    11. Polls released in December had Obama’s approval ratings below those of George W Bush during the same point in his presidency.

There is no doubt this year has been very bad for Obama but the fact that the health care law was implemented in the first place was a significant victory for him along with the Republicans caving on the shutdown. Further the health care law is now surging in enrollment.

[rquoter]HONOLULU — The government's rehabilitated health insurance website has seen a December surge in customer sign-ups, pushing enrollment past the 1 million mark, the Obama administration says.

Combined with numbers for state-run markets, that should put total enrollment in the new private insurance plans under President Barack Obama's health law at about 2 million people through the end of the year, independent experts said.

That would be about two-thirds of the administration's original goal of signing up 3.3 million by Dec. 31, a significant improvement given the technical problems that crippled the federal market during much of the fall. The overall goal remains to enroll 7 million people by March 31.

"It looks like current enrollment is around 2 million despite all the issues," said Dan Mendelson, CEO of Avalere Health, a market analysis firm. "It was a very impressive showing for December." [/rquoter]

It is still too early to tell if they will reach the 7 million mark by March but reports of the death of ACA have been exaggerated and it appears to be ending 2013 on a strong note.

If we are going to talk about the biggest political loser it should be no doubt Congressional Republicans. Obama's approval ratings are bad but the House GOP wishes it could have the same approval rating as Obama.

HaHa, bigtexx. Obama won twice. Your guys in the House were humiliated over their threatening to default on US bonds. Get over it.

Hillary is going to beat Jeb or whatever corporate guy they settle for.

What should be fun is to see what sort of odd characters run for the GOP. Remember Oops Perry, the Pizza Man, Palin, Michelle Bachman, :) Ran Paul, Rubio and Christie will all try to please both the .1% who dominate the GOP and the Tea Party types who hate gays, uppity blacks, immigrants, non evangelicals and want big government to keep its hands off their Medicare.

Sure the ACA website problems were bad, but people opposed to everything Obama does have really just gone way over the top on this thing.

It is like it is the end of the world. There are some things happening with the law that had to be adjusted on the fly, but at the core of things the law is strong and day by day it is something people come to appreciate more.

We have seen a change in the rhetoric as the law has been implemented. At first it was an overall failure bc of the funding, how it would bankrupt America. Now instead of attacking the core, it has boiled down to nitpicking tweaks of the law. He is doing things to make the law better, but it becomes a talking point of his failure. In the end nothing is changed by all this barking, it just riles up people who oppose it.

Sure Obama did have a bad year in some aspects, but he had a good year in other aspects. I am not refuting the points as nonfactual, but the articles point is to dwell on the bad. It lacks the ability to offer an unbiased view.

I could find an article highlighting only the good of the past year for Obama and it would be just as much trash, factual, but trash.

5 million lost their healthcare plan. The enrollment isn't even closing to making up for the losses, much less achieving their own self-made goals, which they presumably set low so they could achieve them. It's truly a laughingstock.

These people will get new policies. Has your company ever changed it's healthcare policies offered before? Every company that I have ever worked for has.

I'm pretty sure the bigtexxx clown show was the biggest loser of the year. Perhaps we need a special D&D year in review thread so the clown show can receive its due.

I look forward to the remaining three years of bigtexxx's Obama-induced pain.

For purely sadistic reasons, I hope the subsequent Democratic administration will be headed by Hillary.

They're probably not too happy with Harry Reid's shutdown from earlier this year. The Republicans' requests seen extremely reasonable now, given what a disaster Obamacare was.
