The talent bookers at RodeoHouston should be tied up, slathered in fish guts, and fed to sharks. Your 2013 RodeoHouston "rock" act is Styx? Need I say more? The talent manager for the HLSR is a friend of mine. Believe it or not, most decent rock acts don't want anything to do with a rodeo show that has them playing on a platform surrounded by 70 yards of cow manure on all sides.
I believe you, but I also believe your friend can get a little more creative than they have been recently.....
Creativity isn't the name of the game, my friend. No style points here. Just $$$. You want creativity, go to an actual music festival. Not a family style cow parade.
actually this is the best lineup I've seen in years. big, popular stars George Strait Pitbull Bruno Mars of course the hipster crowd won't like it, but they're a bunch of losers
Kam, is Demi Lovato "one of yours", or is she out of the kamspectrum? Before you ask, YES, I know who Los Invasores de Nuevo Leon are, but have no idea who the H Julion Alvarez is.
I think it's a great lineup. Not quite sure what people want remember this is about country music and these are some of the bigger stars out there right now and you have the biggest star of all time in George Strait...
You've got the now ancient classic rock crowd with their long thin gray hair taken back in a ponytail complaining that 70 year old "rockers" like The Who aren't there.
To be fair, the HLSR does try to cater to that crowd as best they can, as it's a substantial demographic. It's just not an easy sell for the artists. A few years ago they almost landed Eric Clapton. That would've been impressive.
Not sure what the fuss is over,. 1) like mentioned before, it's a rodeo first and foremost. Not a music festival. 2) I'm not sure what you expect...Lady Antebellum, Bruno, Pitbull and Styx to go along with some solid country acts is a pretty decent range
"George Strait (w/ Randy Rogers), Kenny Chesney, Zach Brown, Dierks, Toby Keith...might be the best lineup I've seen," said season ticket holder.
