All the players Houston has worked out. Mostly PG's and threes.

I'm tired of drafting point guards and power forwards.

I just want to point something strange out. HoopsHypes predraft workouts for today have us working out Xavi Rabaseda. They also have him projected as a lottery pick. Did i miss something??:confused:

Interesting. Perhaps potential pick with #23.

Jimmer has workout scheduled on the 18th in Houston. But it's sounding like he might not attend ...

I do believe that Biyombo will be a defensive nightmare in the NBA. It may take him a couple seasons to get there. Rookies almost always struggle with foul trouble because they don't get the benefit of any calls, the calls go against them. But, once this guy establishes a rep., I think he will lead the league in blocks, be in the top 5 in rebounding, and be just as good if not better than DHoward defensively. Offensively, he'll probably always be a garbage man. But he's got great happy feet. There is footwork potential for him to develop some up and unders for dunks. But, he's like Shaq, He'll never be able to shoot, layups and dunks only, and perhaps at his peak he may be able to develop a 4 foot hook shot. But he'll be a gamechanger on the defensive end, and in this era of perimeter offense and shooting guards and point guards dominating the game, he'll be a great deterent in the paint.

Plus he looks to be too quick to get injured. No one's spraining an ankle on this guy. The last key will be getting some training from Deke on how to elbow people when they get into your comfort zone where they could potentially injure you during a landing.

Seems like most of the top prospects will get a work out in with us... The guy that I think we should be strongly considering is Tristan Thompson (I'm not a Longhorn fan)

The second Motiejunas video that came out from the Eurocamp had some impressive parts. Guy looked extremely fluid and quick in executing post moves.

You mean less fluid. Derrick Williams will be a tweener at the next level. Think a more athletic Al Harrington. Morris on the other hand will be a natural 3. He has the better handle, and can create better off the bounce. Some of his moves remind me of Caron Butler, but he can also run you over in the post. Derrick Williams is younger, just a freshman, more athletic, with the bigger wingspan. Those things give him the higher "potential" tag. Morris is older, had his breakout year late as a junior, and was falsely rumored to having "T-Rex" arms with a 6'7 wingspan. It turned out to be 6'10, still not the greatest compared to Williams 7'2.

Personally, I think Williams will be a solid pro, but probably seen as a bust for being drafted that high. Morris I think will be an allstar.

    Interesting take.

I think Williams will be a very good player. I also think Morris will be a very good SF in the NBA. I think Morris will wind up being the best or 2nd best SF in this draft. And you are right, he's got the handle and can create his own shot as well as make a play for someone else. I like him a lot. If he is there at 14, that will be very tempting if we haven't traded up.

Im not understanding why there isn't more buzz surrounding Morris....the more i watch him the more he seems like a very complete player. I've been looking more at his perimeter game, since he's suppose to have a great post game already and I can't believe his post game is better. He looks great from the perimeter. Looking at his workout clip he reminded me of Melo and he actually went on to say that's who he modeled his game after. His shot is quick, yet controlled, soft, and very direct. Good handles, smooth moves. Takes it to the rim strong. I can see him playing 3 and he's skilled enough to give fits to the PFs as well. He's impressed me more than williams. Morris also seems to have a clear head and way of thnking. He knows who he is and what he can become. Should be able to pick up the details of the NBA game quickly.

I'd put him as high as #4 and think he should definitely be top 6. I expect him to go 6-8 though, maybe to Washington. I can see why morey would try to get him, but i think he needs to try to go higher than 8 or 10th. If he falls to houston I'll consider it a great a draft.

    If washington gets him:

    Wall
    Crawford
    Morris
    Blatche
    mcgee

Not a bad core, all 24 and under.
