Which of these two teams would win in a 7 game series if all players were in their primes/peak?

    Boston
    Kendrick Perkins/Glen Davis
    Kevin Garnett/Leon Powe
    Paul Pierce/J.R.Giddens?
    Ray Allen/Tony Allen
    Stephon Marbury/Rajon Rondo/Eddie House

    Houston
    Yao Ming/Dikembe Mutombo
    Luis Scola/Carl Landry
    Ron Artest/Shane Battier
    Tracy McGrady/Brent Barry
    Steve Francis/Rafer Alston/Aaron Brooks

I know Francis and Alston were traded before the end of the season, but let's just pretend and imagine they were still on the team.

    Probably a toss up.

There is so much talent on the court, it would probably come down to coaching.

you homers are hilarious...and steve francis??? Out of the three listed at the time AB was the best and playing at A.S level. That team was better without tmac as well. Battier in the starting lineup was better off the ball and helped the defense tremendously. That 08-09 team was the one of the best defensive teams assembled over the past decade but taht Celtics team (did they still have posey?) was one of the best defensive teams to ever play.

Celtics in 5 with that lineup.

With the actual lineup, Celtics in 6 or highly unlikely to even 7 hames.

Celtics and I don't think it's all that close. Prime Garnett/Pierce/Allen is just too much.

    PRIMES:

    Yao/Mutumbo>>> Perk/Davis
    KG/Powe>>ScoLandry
    Pierce/Giddens < Artest/Battier
    Allen2=McGrady/Barry
    Starbury/Rondo/House=Brooks/Alston/Francis

Rockets win it in a close one broskis

team chemistry>>>>>>>>>>>>everything else. As a team an Allen in his prime is the best off the ball wing of the decade, garnett one of the top PFs, peirce a good wing but not much more. Those players have already shown they have great chemistry while at the downturn of their careers.

Sorry fellas, this one isn't close.

IDK who Giddens is. Battier and Artest are ELITE defenders in their primes, while Pierce is not known for any defense. I give slight edge to 2 defensive beasts over one scorer.

08-09 Rockets had good chemistry. So IDK if you are insinuating that the Rockets were running around the court like chickens with their head cut off. Rockets vs Celtics in their primes would be an amazing match up. Yao would dominate anyone (except MAYBE KG) in the post. McGrady was one of the top players in the league in his prime. Artest and Battier could shut down almost anyone. Guard play is almost a deadlock.

in reality though Giddens wouldn't play a minute. They'd play both Allens together some.

We never got to see a prime yao or t-mac.. and that said, if he had a young 1995-1996 Mutombo the rockets win hands down.. I'm sorry but that front would be phenomanal. That Celtics team doesn't have enough of an inside presence to stick with a prime mutombo, he's the game changer not anyone else.

Prime T-Mac was better than prime Ray Allen or Prime Paul Pierce.

Garnett is the best player in the series though

Not to sound like a TOF. But Tmac from the Orlando days is better than Ray Allen in his prime. Yao and Dikembe front line is a defensive juggernaut, Yao can be PF on offense and Mutumbo can guard Garnett on D.
