One correction, Grady Jackson is with the Pack. Otherwise, good list.

When McNabb got roughed up in the Panther playoff game, why did Koy Detmer come in? I thought that Feeley was one of the up and coming FA breakouts; was he hurt or something?

Regarding skill positions, with the exception of Terrell Owens and Darrell Jackson, this free agent crop SUCKS. Peyton Manning, Steve Smith, Kevan Barlow, Rudi Johnson, and Correll Buckhalter will all (most likely) stay with their current teams. The rest is just fodder, IMO (well, Tai Streets is decent).

Defensive free agents look much better. Here's hoping the Texans make a run at a couple of those guys.

I have no idea what the hell the Titans are going to do with George and Kearse, but why mess with a 12-4 team. Find a way to sign Kearse and George. Don't fix what isn't broken.

Not a good year at all for QB's...every one of those guys besides Bulger and Manning should be in NFL Europe or Arena Football.

I think Owens and Charles Woodson are the mostly likely big names to be moved. You could probably throw Sapp with them too.

Add Antowain Smith to the RB's also. As far as they go, I don't think the Texans should re-sign Mack. Wells can probably spell Davis just as well.

If a team wants to add a solid run stopper they should pick up Keith Traylor DT from the Bears.

Look at the impact Ted Washington has had for NE, Traylor is of the same caliber.

I hope the Bears beef up their O-Line and keep their D intact.

That is one hell of list of available corners. McAlister, Woodson and Bailey are top 5, the others are top 10 or 15 when healthy. Further, there are about 10 others who are servicable starters or real solid nickle backs too. I would guess a lot of these guys are not going to get the contracts they normally would because of the depth of quality this year, if I was an owner I spend my free agent money here over overpaying an average to below average skill position player.

Patriots did not pick up the option on Antowain Smith.

At the NFL Experience show, I listened to Jeff Fisher speak for a few minutes (at the "Locker Room" booth thingy), and he told the large crowd gathered that he absolutely wants Eddie George back and can not envision a team without him. Take from that what you will...

    A little more analysis:

As for quarterbacks, I'd keep an eye on Todd Bouman. He started a few games back in 2001 for the Vikings and put up some big numbers. I could see him as "the next Jake Delhomme" (or Tim Rattay or Marc Bulger or Kelly Holcomb). Also, A.J. Feeley did VERY well filling in for McNabb 2 years ago. I doubt the Eagles can afford him (i.e. I'm not sure they'll want to invest a lot of money into a backup), so he might be a nice pickup for a QB-starved team.

As far as running backs go, PUKE! Buckhalter, Rudi J, and Barlow will most likely stay with their current teams, and the rest will become moving tackling dummies somewhere for cheap. The only intriguing player is Duce Staley, who's been rumored to end up in Dallas.

Wide recievers aren't too shabby. Besides TO and D Jax, Northcutt and Streets are interesting guys (as #2 receivers). Plus, you gotta figure Meshawn will command a little attention during the FA period.

Tight ends are okay. Boo Willams came on strong last year, and Erron Kinney and Jim Kleinsasser are decent guys. Wesley Walls needs to frickin retire already.

Add Jason Dunn to those TE's, Vescey. He was overshadowed in KC by Tony Gonzalez (which is probably why he'll end up somewhere else), but he's a great blocker and can catch a pass when he's not blocking. Some team will pick him up fairly cheap and get a very nice TE.

    Rumors I heard:
    Boo Williams stays in NO
    Ekuban stays in Dallas
Kevin Barlow to Dallas ( not Corey Dillon)
    Robaire Smith to Houston

Norv Turner's interview on Romey today made it sound like he wants to trade the #2 pick for multiple picks (ala his mentor Jimmy Johnson)

Titan fans consider Robaire Smith a future probowler. But he's not the brightest guy in terms of 15 yarders. And he's expendable due to Rien Long's emergence.

Has anyone heard the latest on Keyshawn "give me the damn ball" Johnson? Is Tampa going to release him or trade him? There is no way he is back in Tampa next year.

Keyshawn has drawn interest from the Lions and Jaguars, he said he would like to play for Dallas, New England or Baltimore.
