That could happen with any team.

Dude, they are clearly the weakest team in the 3 - 7 we could match up with.

These four are our realistic first round match up:

    Clips? Nope
Blazers? Nope (2nd weakest but still mavs are weaker)
    Spurs? Nope
    Mavs? Yup

You completely forgot about the Grizzlies. There is probably a greater chance we play memphis at this point than the clippers.

They think they can do what Portland did last year. These fools think we have the same make up team wise. No Lin, they have Parsons and Asik is not starting at the 4... 3 great things right there. Playoff wise we have added Terry, Brewer, Smith and Ariza. That alone makes a world of difference. Plus James Harden has improved.Jones and Motiejunas has gained experience.

Of course they would rather face us than Grizz, Warriors, Spurs, Clippers.

    Just make it happen, league.

I am sure they do, this Rockets front office and core of players have failed to prove thus far that they can win a tight playoff series. The Mavs know there is a chance that the Rockets crawl into a fetal position and blow in the first round and that is about the best the Mavs can hope for... They won't beat the Grizz or Clippers or Spurs or Blazers, all those teams have won series recently.

What scares me is our careless turnovers through stretches. Certain teams really capitalize off our dumb azz turnovers like GS, SAS & the Clippers. I'd rather play OKC or the Mavs, even though Monte terrifies my soul

    Not for long.

The Rockets have the tough part of the end of their schedule coming up. If the Rockets hold off the Grizz for the 2 seed, McHale and the players will deserve a lot of credit.

Raptors... Mavericks... Spurs twice... Pelicans.... Jazz... Thunder

True we gotta cut down on turnovers and make a higher percentage of our free throws. If we don't improve that will bite us in the butt.

Why would anybody in their right mind play a team who got second seed despite all the injuries is beyond me. Come playoff time, PB might be the only one out of the lineup.

We want to be the highest seed as possible.

Any other considerations is just stupid.

I agree. Literally any first round opponent could beat us.

Getting the 2 seed means we get HCA in the 2nd round if we make it. You just have to go for it.

Harden shouldn't definitely win the MVP if land the 2nd Seed.

The one you have to worry about are the teams peaking right before the playoffs. Clips are on a 7 game win streak and the warriors are also playing great. San Antonio was starting to look good but hit a few bumps. My opinion, Rocks and those 3 will advance to the second round.

I don't get the fear of Rockets fans of the possibility of Mavs vs Rockets in the first round. The Mavs aren't scary anymore like they were before and Dirk is out of his prime. You guys are thinking we're living in 2006-07. The Rockets can take them now in 5 or 6. But one team I don't want the Rockets to face in the playoffs are the Clippers. That team really does scares me.

I rather take on the durantless OKC. Westbrook will not drop 40+ consistently in a 7 game series.
