There are very few teams that would be good with a superstar "by himself". How good are Cavaliers with LeBron right now but without Irving and Love? As for Durant leading a championship level team, he almost did that in 2015-16. And with a different coach and system, he could be the main guy for sure. On a Kerr or Dantoni type team emphasizing playmaking guards as the main guy perhaps not but on a Popovich type team emphasizing forwards, definitely the case. Durant in place of Leonard last year and this year on the Spurs would definitely be championship caliber. As great as Leonard is, Durant is a tier above. If Leonard can lead Spurs, then surely Durant could even moreso.
All this proves is that Curry is one of the most valuable players in the NBA and is the significant reason for the Warriors success over the last 4 years...
didn't the warriors go like 12-2 or something without curry around christmas when curry was injured? edit* it was 9-1 http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/21895703/nba-golden-state-warriors-keeps-winning-steph-curry
Regardless of what happens with Curry the next couple of weeks, Warriors should go 8-2 at worst. However, if the Rockets don't lose at least 2 out of 3 on the road coming up, Rockets are almost guaranteed the #1 seed.
You know the rockets have a habit of making my heart pump harder than usual, they will wait till the last game to clinch that 1st seed or 2nd
