That is correct. After his first dribble, he takes at least 2 steps while the ball is in his hand.

Steps per dribble doesn't really matter. It doesn't look like a carry to me. He keeps his hand above the equator.

Number of steps are irrelevant as long as they occur within the motion of the dribble. If you could take 50 steps while the ball is bouncing, it wouldn't be a travel. And it isn't about the number of steps, it's an actual time count needed to start and stop a dribble that counts in the NBA.

When he receives the ball he starts dribbling. How many steps he takes once the dribble is in motion doesn't count towards a travel. And when he gathers he goes up after his 2nd step. Completely legal.

That he covers 74 feet in 2 dribbles isn't what's amazing... it's that he covered 3/4 of the length of the floor in 7 strides. That's just crazy.

Not a carry nor a travel - a legitimate move.

I was referring to RedRedemption mentioning that it was a carry. I never called it traveling; I called it a carry.

This guy could have dunked from the 3 point line and people on here would find something to still complain about.

It's not travelling but it's certainly carrying. He basically palms the ball in his hand on that first dribble and takes like 4 steps.

The steps are irrelevant, but yes that was my original point.

After the first dribble and the ball comes back into his hands it certainly looks like he absorbs the momentum of the ball and bends his wrist back to accommodate for that momentum to slow the ball down so he can take a few extra steps.

NBA players do this all the time and its a borderline call.

Really reminiscent of what Wade did in the playoffs a while back. Of course Wade has shorter legs and thus a smaller stride than Antetokounmpo.
