Most consider 1984 and 2003 drafts to be the best ever, but man that 1996 draft is ridiculously deep. It didn't have the likes of Olajuwon/Jordan, but the depth is just hard to describe. Combined 4 MVPs, 67 All-Star appearances

    Allen Iverson - 1x MVP, 11x All-Star
    Steve Nash - 2x MVP, 8x All-Star
    Kobe Bryant - 1x MVP, 17x All-Star, 5x Champion
    Ray Allen, - 10x All-Star, 2x Champion
    Ben Wallace - 4x All-Star, 1x Champion, 4x DPOY
    Antoine Walker - 3x All-Star, 1x Champion
    Peja Stojakovic - 3x All-Star, 1x Champion
    Jermaine O'Neal - 6x All-Star
    Zydrunas Ilgauskas - 2x All-Star
    Stephon Marbury - 2x All-Star
    Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 1x All-Star
    Marcus Camby - 1x DPOY
    Marcus Brown - Euroleague legend

This made me wonder, when is the next time a draft this good will come around? The 2014 draft was supposed to be the best ever, but so far it's not looking very impressive.

Kind of surprised Shareef Abdur-Rahim only made one All-Star Team.

96 was a GREAT draft class. I still remember the slam magazine cover.

Almost revolutionary. Some of them brought a new style of ball to the courts that mixed in more playground and innovative 1 on 1 moves.

Shareef was so talented. I'm surprised he was only a 1 time all-star.

The 2009 draft will surpass it.

    Not depth-wise.

Also 3 of the greatest shooters the league has ever seen in Nash, Allen and Peja.

    Yeah, that's 4 solid HOFers.

AI, Kobe, Ray Allen and Nash

hell, Marbury might make the HOF for NBA and international play. He's got a statue in China. :)

Wait, everyone points to the 96 draft as one of the best drafts ever. It's referenced all the time.

according to Morey the 2009 draft must be one of the greatest drafts of all time because he picks them like grapes

or one of the most attainable drafts

What was crazy is that everyone knew how good of a draft it was going to be going in. There were other good players too, like Kittles who was held back by injures.

The game is still growing, and reaching more people, so think it possible to beat the 84 draft some day. but to do that would be quite a feat as you need at least 9 titles in the 20 year span, the GOAT, plus some top 10 players.
