So you want the article to assume Trump will win his second term?

And? Doesn't overcome the rest of his miserable record. Oh, and the Civil Rights Act for all its ballyhooed effects hasn't done much at all to improve race relations or economic performance of people of color in its 50 years of existence. In fact, you can easily argue both have devolved.

Reagan total $ amount of National Debt added = 1.86 trillion in 8 years Pretty scary until you consider all debt accrued is currently 21 Trillion....about 9% of all the debt ever accumulated. Much of this was spent to rebuild the military which convinced the Soviets to end the cold war. Not a bad outcome.

    vs.

Obama total $ amount of National Debt added = 8.59 trillion in 8 years.(41% of all debt ever accumulated). Still not sure where the money went....?

I remember before the election telling my foxnews watching mom “see... in the end, Obama actually wasn’t Hitler, and look at where we are... in the end, we did okay during Obama”... and even she had to be like “yeah... I guess”.

I honestly hope that she can make the same case to me after the Trump era and be able to look at the 4 or 8 years in totality and say “he ended up with pretty decent results in the end”.

But... the process to getting results matters. Debasing the country, treasonous back dealing to cheat the election (if that proves true), making our country less safe by destroying WW2 alliances, propping up dictators, and tearing at the fabric of race relations.... these things still matter in the context of end results. That’s likely to be the big difference in judging an Obama end of presidency vs the end of the Trump era... even with a flawless record on economics if Trump is fortunate enough to have those results.

You can "easily argue" that race relations were better prior to the Civil Rights Act? Please do.

Because back then the black people were put in their place and accepted it. Back in the day, if a black male made eye contact with witha white female, the white female could scream rape and have a mob legally murder the black male.

This allowed the black male to know his place and therefore race relations were better.

Race relations - Obama ruined it. Before Obama white people didn't feel bad because they had a white president even if it was Clinton. But to have a black man be president, that's like having a black boss. They couldn't take it and thus the hate movement came (aka Tea Party) and led us to Trump

You are using total dollars? You can't use total dollars due to inflation. You have to do comparison like these using ratios. Obama inherited the largest economic collapse since the great depression. That debt was used to stabilize the economy. It got us out of the recession much faster than Europe. That is the reason why debt should be used. It shouldn't be used when times are good like what trump is doing.

Oh you can argue that race relations are significantly better today than in the 1970's...well after the Civil Rights Act? Please do.
