It's not the players who will get affected. The executives will lose some $, the owners will lose some $, but the cuts always happen at the lower levels and the many staffers, physio's, trainers, schedulers etc. that make pro league's possible.

Nah, this was calculated, intelligent, and actually mattered. Criticizing low hanging fruit of some other country isn't noteworthy. This was.

I agree with OP 100%. We need to bow down to our Chinese overlords who will take over corporate America by 2025 and welcome them with open arms.

All the Chinese accounts on Clutchfans will agree after they log on past midnight American time.

I am touched by how much random fans in China care so deeply for the well being of Rockets ownership, top executives, and all the employees. You truly are amazing people that you would take the time to express your concern for strangers half way across the world.

Now if only you'd show nearly as much love and happiness for the plights of fellow Chinese, and this world would be all better for it

To the people saying Morey shook the pot too much with his tweet: THAT'S THE POINT. If you truly sympatize with HK then you wouldd want your tweet to bring as much noise as possible. You want this to be a scandal. That's what will bring international attention and help. Morey had a lot to lose with his tweet. More than regular Joe's like us do. That's what makes him courageous.

If Daryl really stood by what he said, then why did he delete the original tweet? He could have kept that along with the two clarification follow-up tweets.

My guess was that he's personally ready to face any repercussions but when it became clear that the ccp was intent on overreacting to the tweet, he decided that he rather wouldn't get other unrelated people involved.

Majority of you are still speculating about Morey's choice of words and timing.

The World and China had human right issues 10 years ago. Did Morey tweet about it?

The World and China had human right issues 5 years ago. Did Morey tweet about it?

HK had protests 10 years, 5 years and 2-3 years ago. Where was Morey?

It just gotten a little more violent.

So is Morey worried about Xi and his potential tenure for life?

Well the NBA and the other teams thank Morey for his conscience, will he be tweeting about the genocide in Sudan, the crisis at the border too?

What about the killing of unarmed black men at the hands of police?

Then there is that whole mass shooting that can happen here in the US

Oh, I hope Morey tweets about Syria, can't forget them

What about the homeless vets wandering US cities, please tweet on that....

Moron forgot he is the GM of a team that hasn't sniffed a title since 1995. Win a chip first that blab away like Pop and Kerr...

Morey wanted attention and desperately wants to be a celebrity

Just for the record - The first amendment is protection against the US gubmint , nothing else.

The bottom line here is that Morey can say what he wants but he isn't shielded from any consequences of those statements - other than government action.

The NBA isn't bound by that first amendment and he could be canned.

My first thought was about revenue - What's this going to cost the league ? How does it affect the salary cap ? It has to project to less income and a shrinking cap.

You sure have a talent to come up with imaginary bullshit and build a worldview around that bullshit.

But again, that's how the US foreign policy works in general. Weapons of mass destruction indeed.

No wonder the world hates you and increasing so

I agree BUT China's overreaction is much more the story here.

Has anybody asked Morey WHY he posted that tweet? Seems pretty out of character for him.

I'm a old-time rocket fan from Shanghai, China.

It's a real life butterfly effect. A HK b*stard murdered his girlfriend caused NBA being banned in China.

Morey can say what he wants. This is his rights. No one argued about it.

What Morey said is wrong. HK is part of China. He can't support mobs and roiters in HK. Those roiters are trying to seperate HK from China. The Chinese government decided to let HK governor handed the situation. HK governor promised thst the HK government is capable of handling the situation. Otherwise the Chinese Armed national Guard force can cease the riot within one day.....
