    Any East Coasters out there? There is a very real threat out there in Tropical Storm Joaquin. One thing to note is that one of the major models (euro) does not show this making landfall in the US. Most of the other models do however and this is what the NHC is basing their current forecast on.

    Interesting intensity model for this one. Hopefully it dies down before it makes landfall. The last models I saw have it going right for the Outer Banks.

    Watch out NYC. This is the first hurricane to cross the 55°W longitude line all year - the first time that has happened since 1914. We've also gone 9 years without a major hurricane (cat 3+) making landfall in the US.
