I think it should. It was intentional and with force. But you are right, probably would be less.

 

Agreed. I hate Malone with a white hot passion, but even I have to admit that was due more to their height difference than any intent to injure. A hard, borderline foul, but not an attempt to decapitate him or anything.

Plus, head wounds bleed like crazy. Doesn't necessarily indicate the severity of the injury.

The Kermit Washington punch almost killed Rudy T. Besides the physical injury ("could taste the spinal fluid leaking into his mouth"), it effectively ended two players careers. If you count that as a foul, then nothing else even comes close.

If we're not counting punches, this one is pretty awful.

There is a moment that I simply can't find at youtube where Bird in the WCFs against the Pistons just hates Bill Laimbeer and gets a hard foul under the basket for foul shots. But before he steps to the FT line the Ref gives him the ball and he proceeds to take the ball and bean Laimbeer in the face from 10' away...you don't want a bullet pass from Larry Bird to your face from 10' away.

Wade on Rondo
McHale on Rambis

When I say "vicious" I mean obviously intentional to seriously injure the other guy.

Aaaaaand thats why your dumbass never won any championships you dumb. The Jazz have always play dirty like the warriors. Bogut/Green are the new malones and Curry is the dirty stockton.

 

And we all know (and knew at the time, too) that Malone jump with the full intention of an elbow to the face, but he had a way of making himself look awkward (see how he turns away from Zeke and lands awkwardly) so the refs and even the instant replay commentators would say, "Well, it doesn't look intentional, he was trying to turn away from zeke."

yeah right.

 

I see what you are saying about Green, but I don't see it with Curry... IMO Stockton was very dirty and took cheap shots at people all over the place and Curry doesn't do that. He goes out and plays hard and what I would view as the "right way." Now is he boastful and full of himself, hell yes, but dirty? Not from what I have seen watching them this year.
