Brewer and Smith looked nice and only 10 turnovers was a good job, but we missed wayyyyy too many looks, and howards freethrows. Only thing I'm worried about is now that we've gotten the good Josh Smith this game its only a matter of time before the bad one comess.

I hope this loss humbles the Rockets.

They have said the right things to the media but they weren't playing the right way.

The past couple of games we have been trying to outscore the Mavericks instead of trying to win with our defense. Our defense has carried us this far, why stop playing it? Just because you are facing a horrible defensive team and have put 120 on them nightly, doesn't mean you can forget about defense.

There have been nights this season when our offense has be total crap. Harden struggles, threes aren't falling and nothing is going our way offensively. We won those games by locking down defensively and grinding out those games. If our shots aren't falling, we have to play like that.

This team has been playing like last year's team in that they are trying to outscore their opponent, rather than trying to make defensive stops. While we may ultimately win this series, we will not win in the playoffs like this. The Clippers, Spurs and Warriors have much deadlier offenses and stingier defenses than the Mavericks. Playing like this is just asking for a sweep next round.

I said before the game that the Rockets should challenge themselves tonight by winning this game with their defense. They needed to prove that they can hold a great offense down with their defense, because like I said, the other teams out West are better teams than what the Mavericks have out there. Other than the first quarter, I give this team a F for that challenge. Total disappointment.

But we have another shot on Tuesday to succeed at this challenge. And we better. Mavs have a new glimmer of hope and will come out firing again next game. We better come prepared.

    I'm not worried one bit.

McHale, Harden...hell, everyone on the team needs to experience adversity in the playoffs. We can only grow from this.

We're going to come out swinging, game 5.

Yeah but the WRONG guys were shooting - we had the Ariza's the Brewers, etc...shooting...

We needed a bit more Harden.

I wonder does Howard smile when he's watching the finals from his house?

Nobody is forcing to vote for Harden or support the Rockets. You can vote MVP for Prigioni too.. it's a free country.

Best part of this loss is the fans won't be as boisterous. One more game fellas. Just because history says we should win up 3-0 doesn't mean it's guaranteed. You still have to play the games. First round not over!!

Last year, the Spurs were taken to 7 games in the first round by the Mavericks. The Heat did not sweep their first round matchup in 2012 against the Knicks, the Mavericks didn't in 2011 against Portland, the Lakers didn't sweep their first round in either 2009 or 2010, the Celtics almost got knocked out of the first round in 2008 (Hawks took them to 7), the Heat didn't sweep their first-round matchup in 2006, Detroit didn't in 2004, and San Antonio has never swept any of their first round matchups in 2003, 2005, and 2007. Those teams all went on to win championships in those years. The only championship team since 2003 (the first year that they switched to a 7-game format) that swept their first-round matchup was the Heat in 2013.

Playoffs don't count....It isn't like Curry hasn't gone missing in a Playoff game.

Wasn't it game 1 where he went 1-9 in the final quarter ?

Some fans are unbelievable, people just expect Harden to dominate every game he plays and when he doesn't, they just kick him down

    talk about borderline bandwagon supporters....

Kenny: Rockets didn't challenge at all. If you want to be a championship team, it's your ability to defend and not wait on Dwight to block a shot. They have to play front-line defense.

Charles: Rockets don't put fear in your heart. You can get any shot you want. They'll shoot 3s. They scored 128 last game and lost. They know Houston can't stop them. Who will score most? Neither are good defensively.

Ernie: Analytics say they're a top 10 defense.

(Charles and Kenny laughing) You're not a top 10 team. Top 10 defensive teams don't give up 128. Howard is the last line of defense. They're good in the half court because Harden will take 10 seconds to make a move. They don't play D.

Shaq: Dallas came out and played with a lot of effort. Houston will go home, sleep in their bed, and will blow 'em out by 15-20. If Dallas wins, it's a big however,....Houston let one slip away. Houston fans will be pumped up. Shots weren't falling and will fall in Houston, series over.

Actually, I prefer an asswhooping like this. It'll wake the Rockets up heading into Game 5.

Wouldn't be surprised if we lost game 5. Dallas has nothing to lose
