In season 1 the location was just as big a character as MM. IMHO, Louisiana was probably my favorite chqracter of season 1. Watching this trailer, it is no surprise to me that there is already a different feel to it. BTW, maaan Colin Ferrell put some weight on for this.

A big reason why I liked the first True Detective is the setting. The characters were awesome, but as "born south I10 kinda guy" it was refreshing to see the gulf coast setting.
They are missing their director from season 1. Also doesnt seem as strange or eerie like the Yellow King storyline. We shall see.
I hope people don't go too overboard comparing this to the first season, it just seems like folks are setting themselves up to be disappointed no matter how good it is. That being said, I think I'm more excited about the 2nd season of Fargo.

I am getting more excited for this. It's not the same, but it doesn't have too be. Just watching the trailor the production level is circling the stratosphere compared to most Tv dramas.
I'm sure the show will still be great but all I can think of is Mean girls "is dick a carb?" and "you motor boatin son of a b****".
