And then what? He leaves in the summer to his preferred destination? With Lawson we wouldn't have that risk.....
Yep. Have sneaky feeling he ends up being traded to Miami. Phx just doesn't have any leverage. Something crazy like C. Andersen and N. Cole. Especially if Doc's tweets are correct and Morey somehow knows Dragic WON'T re-sign. Or does he, as is his style, take the risk and chance it that they can conficne him to re-sign and kill Miami's offer?
Lawson is very unlikely.. and once he gets here and actually realizes he's the final piece for us to win our 3rd championship he's going to stay and were gladly going to give him the max. I'd prefer Lawson but Dragic is the next best thing let's sit back and enjoy
FWIW, In the new roundtable episode, McHale said he's talked internally with Morey about getting another high quality ball handler/playmaker..
Why do you guys even want Dragic anymore? If we trade for him, he won't be happy and will cause chemistry issues and BEV won't like it either. #MoveonDragic
I wonder if goran will even opt out ... Wouldn't be better to be a free agent the year after when the salary cap explodes
Do you really wanna pay Dragic up to 20 mill per year (Moami,Lakers would), I like the guy, perfect fit for us, but somebody will offer him some crazy money in the summer, and I don't think he's worth than 15mill per
He is opting out, because teams are ready to pay him that exploding kind of money this off season. 20 millions / year.
Because even a rental is worth it and if he works out, we have the bird rights to offer ridiculous money. He ain't walking away from 7% raises and a fifth year.
Nothing groundbreaking Ken Berger 1 He's targeting big glamour cities. That's what the NBA tried to fix in the lockout. Where he winds up depends on if he gets moved before the deadline or free agent route. Rockets are in the mix along with Boston. Houston always has assets and flexibility. Houston is not on his list. It's a game of chicken. Ken Berger 2 Houston really covets him but aren't on his short list. Houston's been after him for a couple of years. Depending on the team, he could command a high price. If you're not on his list, you have to think long and hard about giving up assets for him. Ultimately I think he is traded because that's a tough game of chicken for Phoenix to play. A few years ago, Utah heard the first rumblings and moved him a full year ahead of that. It's a tough position to be in.
No he won't. Dragic will come in, not be a distraction, and play hard. Beverley is a team guy. Dragic has millions of reasons to not act up.
Seems like a reasonable strategy for a relatively underrated player looking for his first, and most likely last big payday. #RidiculousPredictions
