I still can't believe he'd resign with the Celtics. That team is not gonna rebuild overnight the way Ainge was able to do back in 2007.
I don't get the fit either. Look, I love Dragic and really want him on this team. I think he can be the difference for us. I think that because I think he is a really good third best player though, not because I think he is a franchise player. It would surprise me if Boston wanted to dump assets to hopefully sign a guy long term that isn't a cornerstone guy.
Pure speculation on my part.......the Rockets and Suns have already agreed on a trade, but since Shved can't be traded until tomorrow, the Suns figure they might as well keep the market open. I do think this could morph into a 3 team deal, especially if the Rockets move DMo (doubt it).
Celtics have a center to give in Kelly O, plus others. The Suns need to tell their fans, we came out with a good big. No to Goran on the Rockets! We don't need anyone here, who dislikes us.
Yeah, I don't see Boston as a true threat. Why would you trade away Rondo, just to turn around and pay a 29 year old to lead your rebuild?
Agreed. And with Smart, I definitely don't see the Celtics offering a better package than the Rockets. I think we end up with him simply because we offer the best package, Phoenix right now is just trying to drive the price up to get more. I would still prefer Lawson myself. But if we get Dragic, and as mentioned earlier, therefore we trade Bev, I wonder who we go after for back up PG; or do we just swap Bev and IT? Will be an interesting 24 hours to say the least.
You guys are greatly over-valuing Plumlee. I've watched a lot of his games and (aside from a 20 game stretch last year) he's a pretty big turd. Mason Plumlee is someone I would love to have, but Miles is pretty much just a big oaf.
Well it fills a need no matter what, but I still don't believe that DMo is on the table at all. Especially now that Dragic completely destroyed the Suns' leverage. They'll take Jones and like it.
FWIW, Berger also said that several teams had been contacting the Bucks about Knight. There has to be some vibe among execs that MIL will at least listen to offers.
Cool... thought you might have saw it on twitter. I think I've seen you in some conversations about Dragic on twitter since yesterday lol.
But what is the harm in trying?? Ainge has 400 first round picks. Dragic is worth a flyer with one of them. If he re-signs, great. If not, oh well, 399 other 1st round picks to play with.
