This just goes to show that Morey will once again be a player in this years trading deadline. I hope they can get a PG and a backup C.

This is what I think as well. All they have to give up is Lamb? That's ridiculous

Oh absolutely! My first thought when Woj dropped that info, was that Morey was trying to get involved in a 3 way trade.

Maybe the Nets and Thunder were getting close and then Morey came in and "hypothetically" throw out some scenarios that the Nets might have found to be a better return than what the Thunder would give them. Maybe that is why the Nets backed out and are on "standby."

I am sure Morey will explore some 3 way trade options with the Rockets moveable assets.

But we can't replace one seven footer that plays with another that doesn't.

Neither does Morey. He's doing two things:

    1) Trying to see if he can work his way into a 3-team deal that allows us to gain another piece (NOT LOPEZ)

    2) Drive up the price of the deal for any other Western conference contender wanting to get involved

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he had leaked the info to Woj himself so Woj could put it out there for the world to see.

^ Absolutely. Morey is probably leaking info to Woj / Amick to let the media work for him

The only way I could make it work was Terry, Kpap, Jones, and Dorsey for Lopez.

Out of that group Terry is the only one who would be subtracted from our current "Top 8" rotation.

Remember, Morey is the Slippery Eel!

He's a slippery eel who likes to probe and in another life time he was a gynecologist and no, he never tired of the profession nor of his love for the anatomy of women.

One other possible (if unlikely) scenario...

What if Dwight's bone on bone is more serious than we're being led to believe and this is Morey doing due diligence to find a replacement?

As others have already mentioned: DM is likely just getting involved to be a facilitator that can prey on a vulnerable team desperate to get a deal done.

By all accounts, OKC desperately wants Lopez. They know the clock is ticking with Durant and recognize how potentially dangerous they could be if Lopez can stay healthy. They're swinging for the fences here.

    Something like....

    HOU sends: Terry/Papa/Jones
    HOU receives: Jackson/Lamb/Perkins

    OKC sends: Jackson/Lamb/Perkins
    OKC receives: Lopez

    BKN sends: Lopez
    BKN receives: Terry/Papa/Jones

That could work. I'd still prefer to deal with Phoenix directly regarding Dragic, but Mr. October is definitely an intriguing player. Plus, it fits into the themes of us both pouncing on OKC players and re-acquiring former Rockets.

A 3-way with PHX makes sense...

PHX probably likes Len a lot, but Brook would fit well with them. Send Goran here, we send pieces + picks to BKN.

BKN needs picks badly, not sure why they're settling for so little.

Morey wouldn't be one to go for a player with the injury history that Lopez has in a scenario like this. At least that's my thought on it.

The funniest thing about this scenario is the Rockets getting Lamb BACK! Talk about more salt in the James Harden trade wound! lol
