Pistons are now 6-0 since waiving Josh, they beat a Spurs team with most of the best players. They have now won more games in this stretch then they did the entire season before they waived Josh. Stan Van Gundy is looking really smart right now.
Poor Josh Smith. It's like his ex-girlfriend won the lottery and started dating Chandler Parsons right after they broke up.
Not starting Josh Smith at small forward wins games. Well that's why he's making 7 million dollars this year I guess.
The Pistons have not played him at SF this year. They had him starting at PF and Monroe off the bench.
Except that it ruined their tanking plan. Now they have no chance of beating the Knicks, Sixers, Wolves, even Lakers. At this rate, they might even get into the playoffs and lose their lottery position.
Even considering competition, the totally opposite trends between DET and HOU is concerning. Is Josh a cancer? Is Josh not a winner? Dwight needs to pick it up too.
Rockets were on a downward trend before we signed him. Don't think you can blame Josh Smith specifically in any loss during that time.
He certainly disrupted our chemistry - is he a cancer, I don't believe on the Rockets he is, but he might have been a distraction because he upset the balance being Dwight's best friend. We all have to wait and see, but clearly, I hope he becomes the 4th big once TJones is healthy. DD
Dwight Howard is the one that has disrupted our chemistry. In 3 games off the bench, Josh Smith is averaging 18 points and 7 rebounds on 50% shooting, in 28 minutes
They played him at SF at least 19 games (the ones Monroe started). Unless Monroe was supposed to be the SF, I don't know.
That is false. They tried both... The bigger problem though, was having Jennings and Smith on the floor together, both with a huge green light to let bad jumpers fly. Bring it back to Atlanta and get Josh rolling to the rim, and everything will be okay.
Very true, though I imagine SVG is under an enormous amount of pressure as GM and head coach. I don't think the Piston's owner had the Sam Hinkie total tanking mode in mind. When they released Josh Smith, I honestly thought it was for two reasons, tanking and SVG did not want to coach him.
Checked 82games.com, seems he did play SF. My mistake. Still he did not spent much time at SF compared to PF. And they were worse with him at PF than at SF. http://www.82games.com/1415/14DET10.HTM#bypos
Not true. Monroe was suspended to start the season for two games and was starting by game 4. They all three started several games together, not all, but many. And, according to 82games, the Smith, Monroe and Drummond front court is the most used front court during the time Josh was there. Josh definitely played a lot of SF.
