Anyone know of any good places to eat at around IAH? I'm having some friends stop here for a 4 hour layover, which will more than likely realistically turn into 2 hrs free-time, the most. I figured I'd show them around a little bit and take them out to eat. Of course, preferably around Bush since I don't want to risk driving too far and having to deal with traffic. Would probably prefer something laid back, casual, nothing too fancy or expensive. Gracias!

Papa's Seafood is close, just take Beltway 8 to 45 S and it's on the right about half a mile.

Humble area is full of restaurants if you want to stay relatively close to IAH.

In Humble you got Italiano's, Pappasito's, Tin Roof BBQ, Saltgrass, etc... If you want something expensive but great you got Chez Nous. Usually go for special occasions.

humble has always had a lot of quality eateries. is wyatts cafeteria still there? what about that long john silvers? or if you want authentic mexican cuisine how about panchos? then you could hit up golf n' games for a round of miniature golf. this time of year i would suggest playing the indoor course. the difficulty level is a little higher with all the water hazards, but its the nicer of the two, in my humble opinion.

Self-promote? You work there? Asian City used to be my "go to" place for lunch. It got to the point I didn't even have to order sometimes because they already knew what I wanted (all the way down to the extra lemons).

Is that place any good? I've always wondered about that. Every time I drive by the lot is nearly empty.

I used to work with two people that would make a point of stopping on the drive back to the airport to buy lunch at Jimmy G's and bringing it on the plane back to Boston. Gee I'd hate sitting near them on the plane.

    Is Jimmy G's still there?

Oh cool. I really like that place. We can come up with a secret handshake so next time you know to give me an extra piece of shrimp on my hibachi order.

There's a Los Cucos on 1960, much closer to IAH than the Kingwood location.
