The right move. Look for something at the trade deadline or 2015 FAs.

If we are not matching, then Morey miscalculated badly. We could have gotten pretty valuable picks or players in a trade. Instead, we got a bag of nothing for Parsons. Ouch.

Because Morey wants to push Deng and Lance into panic mode and sign with other teams ASAP, then match the offer last second.

This is the correct move period. Parsons is absolutely not worth the max and Morey should have never ever let him out of his contract a year early.

Morey and Les just guaranteed that Dwight will be wearing another uniform in 2 years(maybe sooner if they feel the need to trade him instead of letting him walk for nothing).

Are the Rockets good enough to win a title next season with Howard, Harden, and Parsons? That's debatable. Especially with McHale as their coach. But one thing I can guarantee is that they are not only not winning a title next season with Howard, Harden, and Ariza, they'll struggle just to make the playoffs.

Which means next season has already been written off. And for what? So that you can save caproom for Kevin Love who's at the mercy of the T'Wolves front office and wherever they decide to trade him(and rest assured, without Parsons, we DO NOT have the assets they desire). Or are we waiting til 2016 for the pipe dream of Durant coming here?

Does Les Alexander want to try to put together a championship basketball team or an All-Star squad? Because trying to do the latter blew up in his face this offseason and I don't see how it's going to be any better next year or the year after, especially now that he and Morey have probably p-ssed off Dwight and motivated him to seek greener pastures elsewhere once he opts out.

I'm not sure why everyone is trashing this so much. Ariza is a MAJOR upgrade defensively over Parson at a fraction of the cost. Yes, everyone liked Parsons, he's a very good player but he's not worth what the Mavs are paying.

Wow...Morey turned Lin, Parsons and Asik into Trevor Ariza and cap space for players who think of Houston as a nice foil to gain negotiating leverage for the teams they really want to play for.

i believe with the trade kicker, he'd count as 17.5m against the cap?

correct me if im wrong, but that would eliminate so many teams, when you have Deng getting 10m and Parsons being more or less a glue-guy on steroids.

This off season couldn't have gone any worse. I am a huge fan of Morey but this has been his worst period with the franchise by a long way.
