In this crazy NBA offseason where Hayward and Parsons are getting max deals, Ariza at 8 mil per doesn't sound that horrible if it allows you to bring in 2 to 3 more impact players with the financial flexibility.
LOL. nice one. Carl we def. need your humor around here now more than ever. If you've been holding back lately feel free to let em rip.
I remember calling Trevor Ariza "Traveler Ariza" because whenever he tried to make any kind of move with the ball, it looked like he traveled. Dude is not bad, though, if his shots are falling. Not a star, but is the kind of role player who can help-- like a younger, longer version of Carlo Delfino, and we missed Deflino
Plays better D than Parsons and shot the 3 better than him last year too. I'm not crazy about him but it's better than nothing.
Ariza was a disaster here because Morey tried to see if he could become a stud. That year started off as a disaster with him, Brooks, Scola, and Landry all jockeying to be the main man...when none of them had that in them. Put Ariza in the right role, and he gives you high effort on D and a decent running wing on the break. The question is, are they trying to bring him in as a cheap replacement for Parsons or are they trying to sell him on a 6th man role?
It's happening. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/report-ariza-rockets-close-deal-204552299--nba.html
At this point I'd be happy with signing Ariza and matching Parsons just to screw over the Mavs. Let them settle for an ancient Marion to play SF.
Once this signing happens don't stop there we need more. DJ Augustin and a power forward that's relevant will due.
