If Canaan can mature, his skill set would be nice playing next to Harden, but Bev's Defense would be missed.
What sucks is that from Riley's perspective it makes perfect sense. Is Bosh worth a 5 year max? Probably not. However, what chance do you have of getting an All Star FA to come to Miami if all you got on the books is Wade? Pretty close to Zero. With Bosh + Wade, you got a shot. Clock is still ticking...
If Bosh wanted to stay in Miami he could have just signed with the Heat a long time ago. The fact that he was waiting on Lebron...... tells me that he would only go back to Miami, if lebron is there.
If true, this is good for two reasons. 1. It would mean that even the Heat are pretty pessimistic about keeping Bosh. 2. Beverley isn't even a good match for them. He's expiring next year and will likely command a hefty contract. For the Rockets they don't care. They're over the cap and won't mind matching any offer. Miami is under the cap. Miami's posturing. My guess is that they'll end up with Capella and NY's 2nd rounder next year.
Keeping players like Beverley is the main reason for doing a sign and trade. Otherwise we would just clear the cap space and get picks in return.
As much as we all love Bev....if the Heat are willing to S&T, you do it. Gives us MLE. Morey could then find another PG. Yes, it would suck, but it opens up MLE money
That's doable, cause with a S&T don't we get to keep our MLE and stuff? Only thing tho, there's no PGs worth anything on the market.
