Why wouldn't we discount Dallas and NY, he said he wants to win....Dallas has an aging Dirk and Monta Ellis.....that's not exactly attractive and NY has nothing at all. Even if Houston does nothing at all, they are a better team than the Knicks or Mavs WITH Melo.

doesnt the spurs win over the heat show that team play > superstars.

how does melo make the rocket better when he is the exact same player as harden that shoots 20 times to score 30 points and plays no defense.... rockets should be looking for pau gasol or chris bosh, not melo

Again, Dallas has an elite coach and took the best team to 7 games.

On paper, we look attractive, but when push comes to shove, Dallas can do damage.

An elite coach that has only taken the Mavs out of the first round twice before....That totally makes up for a lack of talent.

Thank you. Its not like we were light years better than them last year. Rockets fans need to tone it down a little. Don't forget we got bounced in the first round.

It seems all Dallas is doing is convincing Melo not the join the Rockets and then he joins the Knicks.

Mavs take the Spurs (the Champions btw) to 7 games
Rockets lose to Blazers in 6 games
Blazers get wrecked by the Spurs.

Rockets may look better on paper, but in the post season, the Mavs played better.

i agree wholeheartedly. that's why i hope we make a coaching hire that can emphasize defense/teamwork moving forward.

we can't fill the coaching void with more talent.

Yes, with a MUCH more talented roster, they've also missed the playoffs with that coach. Which one season do we base everything off of?

How do they have a lack of talent?

    Ellis
    Dirk
    Chandler
    Carter
    Devin Harris
    Diaw
    Marion

Plus they have one of the best coaches in the league and one of the best owners

SOURCE: Mark Cuban, Donnie Nelson, Dirk, Melo met up with Raymond Felton at Taco Bell in South Dallas.

I see this over and over regarding taking the Spurs to 7 games, it means absolutely nothing. I remember the Hawks to the Celtics to 7 games the year the Celtics won the championship.

Guess what happened after that, the hawks still sucked. Just because a team matches up well, does not mean they will do the same thing to other teams.

    Bottom line:

Dallas: If Dirk goes down with an injury....Melo stuck again trying to carry the team.

Chicago: If DRose goes down with an injury....Melo stuck again trying to carry the team.

NY: Would be stuck carrying the team next year and beyond.

Houston: He will have: Harden, Howard and possibly Lowry. Anyone of those guys get injured...team will still contend in the West.

Bottom line: Dallas have Monta. Monta have it all.
