How is Melo the second best passer? Melo isn't a passer. Neither is Dwight. Not everyone on the court has to be a playmaker, as elite of a scorer as Melo is it won't matter. If LeBron wants to play with Harden, even better. This is simply speculation at this point. Only Morey probably knows what LeBron wants. We don't know if that is Carmelo or Harden.
The way I see it, Lebron would LIKE to play with Melo if he decides to leave Miami. But if he decides on Houston, and Morey tells him "Hey look, we can get your buddy Melo, or you can play with James Harden. Which one would you prefer?", I doubt he will say Melo.
It seems the two sides are arguing about different things. No one here wants to trade Harden for Melo. Some find it completely outlandish for LeBron to insist on it. Some are arguing under the premise that he already has insisted. We all agree on what to do if it happens, so why are we arguing?
Let's say that the rumor is possibly true that Lebron would "like" to play with Melo. I wonder if Morey told him that hey, I can get you Dwight, Love and Harden to play with, or Dwight and Melo to play with. Which do you think will help you win more championships? Assuming that Morey could do either, I think Lebron chooses the first instead of Melo. Both Harden and Love are younger and gives him more years to compete for championships and extending his career.
This. Saying you have a ready made roster is one thing, saying that the player can CHOOSE one of their All-star sidekicks and Still have a good supporting cast and obviously sharp GM to surround him with more talent is a great selling point to anyone. Maybe Lebron wants Melo. Maybe Lebron is happy with Harden. However, telling him that it's HIS choice gives him a tremendous vote of commitment on the part of the Rockets. Chess vs checkers...
If feel like I need to develop my own basketballholic type meme. THE ROCKETS WILL NOT TRADE HARDEN FOR ANYONE
That's funny because up until now I would have agreed with you. Howeva...I think Morey would actually deal Harden for Lebron. But I don't think that will ever materialize. So I think you're right.
I agree, but it will never come to that. You simply do not trade a 1st team all-NBA shooting guarding that hasn't hit 25 yet. Harden is a big reason Lebron would come here.....not a reason he would pass over us. His low relative max salary is really what is giving the Rockets the ability to put together a big 3 and keep our young complimentary players on the roster.
I really think if LBJ comes here, he can get on Harden's ass for not even trying on defense at times. Harden could be a much better all-around player if he would just try to play defense. Bev Harden Parsons James Howard
Who guards the big PFs when you have to use your best wing defender "lebron" to slow their wings down ? Parsons ???
wait what? love lebron harden and howard? if that is what you are saying, do you understand this isnt the yankees and you can not just spend as much money as you want without a cap???
<a href="http://www.freeimagehosting.net/"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/Z6JFOeA.jpg" alt="Free Image Hosting"></a> I doesn't look to me that getting to the Finals satisfies Lebron
Yes I do sir. Do you understand that we can clear enough cap space to sign Lebron outright first....and then we could trade for Love with a variety of packages that would all work under the CBA if they were agreed upon by both teams? While many think it is UNLIKELY, it is definitely POSSIBLE.
Why so critics can rag on his legacy when he retire and they say, "well he played in a garbage conference and had a cake walk to the finals every year".
Dwight, Love, Harden, and LeBron together are not even in the realm of possibility. Unless LeBron plays for free.
It would make it even worse that he'd be a lock to finish his career with more finals losses than wins...probably by a significant margin, in a cakewalk conference.
