    Melo is a coach killer.

It was eventually gonna happen. They have a new GM. Unless the team is doing well, the new GM would want his choice of coach.

lol I was about to ask the same thing. I would probably attribute the coach killing to jr smith, beno udrich, and maybe amare right now.

Maybe not, but the league is filled with good coaches and Mike Woodson is not one of them.

George Karl could turn them around or SVG. Lots of better names out there than Woodson.

Plenty of great coaches out there

    Larry Brown
    Phil Jackson
    The Van Gundy Brothers
Rudy T (I think he is relieved from his 'scouting' duties for the Lakers)
    George Karl
    Jerry Sloan
    Lionel Hollins

but I dont think any one of them would want to coach those Knicks.

Can't be George Karl. If they replace Woodson with George Karl, it means Melo is getting traded (Remember, he was Melo's coach in Denver).

Larry Brown maybe, but his ways are way behind the times the way the game is played today and unlike Sloan, Brown has shown no willingness to adapt. Lionel Hollins was fired for this exact reason.

I wouldn't rule out Sloan, though.

This is what I don't understand... Owners/GM's want coaches that focus on offense and run the ball. The problem is, when was the last time a team like that one a championship. It's fun to watch but in the playoffs, it doesn't mean anything. The best teams play defense, typically really good defense.

You're not giving Miami's defense any credit at all.

Miami's defense allowed them to score points in transition. That's what separated them from opposing teams who couldn't negate their advantage in the open court.

The best teams typically play really good offense and defense. Weird how that works.
