If this trade really was discussed it really shows how this org views Lin.

As if demoting him behind can't score/pass/or create Beverley with a 12 PER wasn't insulting enough, they want to trade a 25 year old Lin who is putting up 18 PER and 64% TS for an injury prone shell of his former self D-Will who is putting up a lower PER and TS% but costs more than 2x more.

2nd best TS% among PGs and top 5 in PPS in entire NBA, still not enough to get any amount of respect from this org.

The Rockets FO is obsessed with names more than anything else. If the Nets actually added Lin and Asik, they would win the Atlantic Division.

 

I get what you are saying, but it could have also been that we were banking on the fact that D-Will could have looked like his younger self where there were legit debates on if he was the best point guard in the league. I wouldn't like the trade though, since I believe we need a big to come here.

Its strange how so many people in the NBA like to look at the older players and talk about " looking like their younger selves ". When will these people get that AGE can't be erased. The Kobe fans are crying at home right now, Kobe and all the other aging greats, are that aging. No time machines yet!

 

If I am the Nets' GM I would do this trade right away. With Lopez out and D Will injured all the time, they are going nowhere.

 

Deron Williams admitted he's a systems player and the Rockets have a great system.

So excited when I read this news. Then got sad when it didn't go through. Then hopeful that maybe the offers still on the plate.

 

Rebuild.

 

High risk for the Rockets. Great if DWill can go back to playing like his all star self, but if he continues being injured then we would have lost two solid players for an overpaid bench warmer.

The trade makes sense for the Nets though.

 

KG would be the kind of starter we need.
