Because the Spurs never get any respect, even from odds makers. Mostly because they're an old team and always expected to break down.
They played well against the heat the year before what are you talking about? The nba is about matchups, the pacers are aren't a great matchup for the heat because of their defense and hibbert.
I'd much rather they underestimate us, than over-rate us. Then we can surprise them all with over-achieving like last season.
Other than OKC and Miami, which team stacks up to us in terms of superstar power? Assuming Howard is even close to being Orlando Howard, we should have the 3rd best superstars talent in the NBA. And superstars have traditionally been a very good indicator of on-court play.
i honestly do not understand the hype with the Clippers. As long as Blake Griffin is your 2nd best player, they will not win any championships. He has to define his post game in a major way. JJ Reddick and Jared Dudley? really? People act as if like they've added Steph Curry and Monta Ellis lol They Clippers are a good team; no doubt, but can not beat Spurs, OKC, Memphis and prob now Rockets in a 7 game series. I just don't see it...i could be wrong
I do not agree with this? [Not that these rankings matter anyway] Clippers over us? Why? The only team I cannot argue about is Miami.
I think thats perfect to start the season. I mean... we haven't PROVEN anything, so why would people rank us much higher? The Bulls DID make the 2nd round... and even tho it was in the East vs the Bucks, at least they advanced with a team torn apart by injury. With Rose back, they we will be VERY, very good. I think people forget how good he actually was (is). Indiana? Maybe not ELITE, but tough tough tough. They f%ck!ng took Miami to 7 games, so yeh... they get a much higher ranking than us. Now the Clippers? Well, they have a good team with all-stars on it, but I can't necessarily think of why they're ranked higher besides their 4th seed spot last year. I like Memphis better, and they're below us at 10. MIA, OKC, and SA all make sense, so yeh to me this looks perfect and I am sure it will only get better.
Because everyone knows what they are getting with the Clips. Rockets are only good on paper right now. No one really knows how well this will work yet. Everyone thought the Lakers were going to be monsters last year........
Dudley's one of the most underrated wings in the NBA. He's gritty and selfless. I love his game. Most overlooked acquisition of the summer, IMO.
No. Everyone thought a HEALTHY Lakers team were going to be monsters last year. They weren't healthy, and they weren't good as a result. Name me a previous "good on paper but sucks on court" team before them? Brooklyn when they trade for Johnson and have Lopez return from injury? Success!(49 wins was most since 2005) CP3 joining the Clippers? Success! (last 2 seasons are 2 highest winning% in Clipper history) Miami when Lebron/Bosh joined? Success! Boston's big 3? Success! Gasol joining Kobe in a trade that every other owner screamed about? Success! Shaq and gazillion other has beens like White Chocolate and fat Walker joining Wade? Success! If Howard truly healthy, then the Rockets will be very good on the court. History of the NBA suggest on-paper goodness almost always translates into on-court goodness. Injuries and getting really old notwithstanding.
having the bulls over the rockets just for the fact that Rose is coming back next season is plain stupidity.
