It makes sense. He pretty much is the embodiment of the Knicks. Can't see a team ever going far if he's the #2 option. He's the definition of a streaky shooter and those guys should never be your #2.
I wonder if Morey even wanted J.R. Smith or if he just met with him to give J.R. Smith more bargaining leverage by adding to the perception he is in high demand. Morey loves sticking it to the Knicks.
It's pretty amazing that with a payroll of what should be upwards of $80mil(once they've filled their roster), the Knicks 2nd option is actually J.R. Smith. We laugh at Brooklyn's spending, but at least they can say their 4th option is KG.
Knicks show interest in Garcia. Rockets meet JR Smith. Knicks scramble to sign Smith. Garcia risk aborted. Insert Morey at MSG gif.
so how did jr know her? On topic- welp, looks like i was wrong for making a thread saying smith wouldn't be returning based on a tweet.

Only 6.1 mill a year!? I wouldn't mind the rockets picking him up as our 6th man for that price. Budinger's getting paid only .8 mill less a year then him, that's insane. I thought he was going to get a deal somewhere around 9 mill.
