I don't feel bad for him at all. Had a good run. Supposedly he is already scouting out assistants for wherever he coaches next season.
He'll have his pick of jobs next season. Be on any team for as long as he has and you'll go through some rough patches. His overall success with Philly was arguably better than Cowher's similar amount of time with the Steelers, despite the lack of a ring.
Assuming Reid still has a full tank of gas, this is huge for the Cardinals if it happens. He would be their best coach in over 35 years and might be the guy to get them on track for a while.
I initially thought that he should have been given his last year to see what happens as he had one year remaining on his contract. After hearing various players discuss how many players on the team refused to buy into the system and quit, maybe it was time for a change or maybe it was time to clean house of said players. I don't know and I'm not in a position to make those calls but what is done is done and Reid won't be out of work for long. My thoughts for the future: I think that several big name players will be gone next year, not sure who but they will not keep everybody on that squad. I think the next coach, whoever it is, will not fare well and will be gone within a few seasons. It's going to be a long decade for Eagles fans too as I think there will be more seasons of losing than winning. Not a very good outlooks overall but maybe I am wrong. In Reid news, it appears that the Chiefs are now the frontrunners for him and not the Cardinals. Honestly, if I was Reid I'd rather go to the Cardinals. The defense is good and he is an offensive coach. Good match if you ask me.
Kansas City is the best place for Reid to go. He'll be able to bring all of his Philly cronies with him. I don't think he would be able to do that in Arizona.
