I think he's been in the discussion for a while, though maybe on the fringes. In 2008, when the Lions went 0-16 and had a QB combo of Dan Orlovsky, Dante Culpepper, and Jon Kitna, he was top 5 in yardage and led the league in TDs.

Currently he is the best receiver, don't think he will end up ahead of Rice when all is said and done.

Best arm meaning power? I could probably agree with that, but commentators usually mention the odd (bad) mechanics of his throw.

Cal Johnson is 27 and he is about to break the record. What if he continues to play like this for the next 7 years. Then would he be the best?

If the list is talking about arm strength you shouldn't be surprised, he has one of the most effortless looking deep balls in football.

right now the rules makes the game easier to WRs and QBs.
Jerry Rice didnt have all benefits that the WRs have now.

But he caught passes from 2 of the top 5-6 QBs of all time.

Perhaps he helped make them 2 of the top QBs of all-time...

Steve Young was terrible with the Buccs.

I attribute their successes primarily to Bill Walsh and his west coast offense.

The most amazing single season stat for Jerry Rice is the 22TDs in 12 games (He actually had 23, one was rushing).

I hope Calvin gets to 2,000. I also hope he gets the TD record one day.

Best in the game. Not best ever. He's still behind Rice and Moss.

Youth is not an excuse for ignorance.
