I'm late to the whole Ye Shiwen 400 IM controversy, but is it just me or are there literally zero video evidence of the event. Ive checked youtube and even the official nbc olympics page, and while they have full replays of the preliminaries, they have absolutely nothing of the final event.
Kim Collins says he was kicked out because he left the village to meet with family.... http://espn.go.com/olympics/summer/...ympics-kim-collins-disciplined-team-sent-home
Serena Williams need to move up to Men's Tennis, it's just not fair for average sized woman to compete against a pit bull like Williams..
Bolt, Blake, Gatlin are my clear favourites after the first round. Bailey with 9.88, but I think his limit is something ~9.80.
They're generally unwilling to commit 2 hours to a single event on the main channel. They like to have variety and cut back and forth. Beach Volleyball and Water Polo matches don't really take that long. That's why Basketball and Soccer get relegated to NBC Sports. Of course they're now showing a men's volleyball match which can easily go 2+ hours, especially if it goes 4 or 5 sets.
While watching the US Men's volleyball team, the commentator alluded to the badminton controversy and cycling controversy. In the 2004 Olympics, the Brazilian volleyball team threw a match to earn them a better draw should they reach the semifinals, and they eventually went on to win gold. The IOC didn't disqualify them. Instead, they did the right thing and changed the rules for the following tournament. Seems like the IOC only wants to disqualify teams they don't like.
Men's basketball is the only thing they show on NBC network for the entirety I believe. and if this is the future of Brazilian soccer, i'm not gonna be a fan.
